A ticking time bomb ;)
Brooo I just saw your sig! hows it like driving with the new turbo? Awesome probably but and even more so once you get that new housing. Are you gonna upgrade your HPFP or do you feel the car performs adequate enough. I know there's a ton of potential left on the table but prices still seem kind've high and experimental.
All the power has moved to the mid and upper Rpms its crazy its pretty loud when spooling it sounds like a jet lol I'm waiting to see how the new housing performs which will change how the power comes about once again. I'll probably do e85 way down the road I'm waiting to see what comes about with these pumps though too so only time will tell but right now the pumps seem expensive . I think I'll be happy with the new housing I love the power of the vs2 but I do miss the low to mid delivery of the stock turbo at times too so it should be the best of both worlds

Aren't u guys afraid of blowing ur motors. I was planning on upgrading then I read too many stories and thought anything over 350hp to the wheels is just a time bomb waiting to go off ?? Please convince me otherwise. I would love to make the jump if I could do it safely.
Yolo! No But In all honesty, All I can say is have a backup plan once you're good with that choose a good intercooler, tuner, dvcc, quality oil and let it be in Gods hands. I mean that's all you can do it's not just EB's that take this risk on anybody who tunes/modifies their car should be thinking of the potential consequences this is not a new thing. If somebody is really concerned and doesn't or can't afford to utilize a backup plan they probably shouldn't be modding yet if they still want more power then there's the gt or FP tune given they can afford that.

Everything you said.
+1

I'm right behind you it seems. Still have a stock exhaust setup and stock suspension. Adam's E30 pulls like an animal

I think the 350 is with 93 gas only. However if you use meth injection/E85 it pushes that "safe limit" further. Atleast that's what I remember reading , somebody correct me if wrong.

With meth and straight E85 you're knock resistance is a lot higher. Also, not all tuners can or will tune for ethanol/ethanol blends so choose your tuner wisely.

I have mixed feelings about it. If I recall correctly I believe the majority of blown motors were attributed to defects from factory build quality, like loose cam bolts. Other motors blew because of questionable maintenance. Loose oil feed line bolts or a combination of otc tunes and driving habits.

From what Adam mentioned somewhere and correct me if I'm wrong 450whp was his limit on a stock block; he mentioned torque coming on too quick snaps rods and tunes accordingly.

Mind you the most recent one was from a guy oil feed line to his turbo blew off from its attachment point leaving a big hole in his block tune related? ....likely not.

1)Another blown motor example was someone using the Cobb otc tunes. If you've ever had one you know it's jumpy as hell and you get all the power very quickly. i can imagine that type of shock to stock rods over and over could cause issues.

2)Another guy bought a Cobb accessport..payed for a tune on his car....but still around with stock motor craft oil from the factory.......

Those are A few I remember but there are a couple guys who've had e30 tunes from day one or close to it and have way more miles than me. Whatever they are doing is working and we will find out more with time.

If my motor blows for some reason, yes that will suck but preparing yourself with knowledge from others is all you can really do if you choose this path. Saving some side cash for a badass rebuild couldn't hurt neither :D

It's a known possible risk and you can't really argue for or against it.

Very cool, what side of town you on? Ive never seen another cool black EB here or at meets. Just regular ones.

Wait until you get upgraded turbo and full E85 op. NA GTs stock or tuned with bolt ons are pretty easy prey ;) Plus your in a lighter more nimble car and that plays an advantage. Im running a Garrett Gtx2867 on E85 with cobb access port and Tune + and its quite fun.

As long as your car is properly tuned for the mods you have and you regularly monitor and send logs to your tuner, you shouldn't have to worry about blowing your motor. Adam from Tune+ has been a pleasure to work with and has my car running strong and haven't had any hiccups at all. Had it dyno'd over the summer and made 355whp and over 400 ft./lbs of torque. All while still averaging close to 20mpg.

you can race me if you want when I get back into town. I'm out of state currently, if you can run to 120 and stay even within 5 cars length I'd be impressed.

Some people can't stand the thought of a lower tier car being able to compete with the higher tiers.

When it comes to modding, the person who spends the most wins.

It's not that, I had focus st, 3x fiesta st and 2x 2.7 f150's both tuned e30. I like the ecoboost motors, I just don't like incorrect information spread as you're setting high expectations for someone who may go out and buy an ecoboost mustang thinking it will be easy to get gt killer power. An ecoboost 2.3 on e30 isn't gonna be a 120 mph car more realistically 109 -> 113 mph depending on tune and mods which is still pretty awesome.
