Not to poop on your celebration but...First you claim their full exhaust then you're assuming intake and just exhaust? Mods that we will never know?? Sounds like you raced two stock GTs with roush or corsa exhaust only and drivers that cant bang the gear.
I'm not trying to throw a party and celebrate just yet. But if I was you're invite might get lost in the mail ;)

To hopefully clear your concerns,
If they went through the trouble of paying for an exhaust, I would at least "assume" they spent a little money on some form of intake.
But does it really matter if they had an intake or not? I don't think the 3-5hp would've made a difference in this situation...

So as I stated before all I could tell was that they we're loud as fudge and I thought whoever was driving probably had a little money in these cars, but who knows what mods they had, maybe they were on E85 and tuned ;maybe the driver hurt his foot and couldn't push the gas pedal as hard ;maybe he let me win so that I could start rumors on forums to boost Ecoboost sales lol :eyebulge

Just an experience I had man, I'll save the bragging when I get a new turbo.

Cool! Ya main reason I went with tune+ is because of the Cobb accessport. If I'm not around any E85 stations I press my cancel button on my steering wheel twice and bam I'm on my 93 tune. Another reason is flat-foot shifting and burnout mode. If I could do it all over again I would upgrade in this order,

Performance:
Cobb accessport w/Tune+ tune
Intercooler
Suspension cradle lockout & stiffer springs
(Diff lockout if you like weird noises all the time lol this made big difference on how shifting felt)

For cool sounds
Intake and full exhaust w/ or w/out cat
Thanks for the info, I'll be sure to relay all of this. (I don't know why he just doesn't join M6G, that dope). We have a station with E85 right in town, so I'm sure he'll want to take advantage of it.

Vert turbo!!!!
I'm pretty happy with these results and by no means this is scientific proof that every Ecoboost with the same set up can run all over bolt on 5.0s. Just sharing my experience.
Sounds pretty scientific to me. :D

All jokes aside, I've ran with some GTs in SC and did not have an issue.... have to admit, we were not doing 120, I don't think.

Ran with another GT in Ohio (vert at that.... that was fun - both of us with top down)... no issues there either.

I believe you, when I had a similar set up (auto) with stock tires every non-tuned 5.0 I've raced at the track, auto or not, I've beat. Even beat a 16 SS, granted the SS was brand new a couple days old not broken in and driver was still learning the car/shift points.

After 120mph though I'm not sure the outcome may vary I wish we had a longer track.
Not to rain on your parade.. but I drove a GT tuned with exhaust and intake and there's no way an EB is beating it unless it pretty modded.

I believe you run with a stock auto GT but you'll have to be modded big time to beat it. Stock GT's can run close to mid 12's with good air. The SS auto/manual run low 12's stock.

I personally think you beat the driver.. but maybe your EB is that quick

I was just stating in general... Even in stock form, the 5.0 is a handful to deal with.. I believe modded EB's (unless they're on E30) can keep up with one.. Over here in SoCal, only 91 tune is the highest.

Don't get me wrong, the EB is a fine car..

I drove an EB with IC and tune, it def. feels as quick as a stock 5.0.. it's pushing it to redline is where it falls. Then again, he wasn't tuned by Adam so maybe Adam's tunes are pretty damn good

Oh okay thanks for clarifying! Yeah definitely I agree... in Texas it's different we never have good air typical da is 2500-3000 but fuel is good, regardless though everyone is on an even playing field if at the same track. The OP is talking about GT's that we can only assume are still using the stock tune regardless of supporting mods are probably using the stock tune so that is what I used to compare. One thing remains true most bone stock GT's get High 12's to low 13's that I have seen and regardless of geo location even our drag threads can prove that and in my experience my FBO e30 EB consistently ran 12.5 on 275's. there is a huge difference between an EB tuned on 91 vs e30 it's almost laughable I'm talking 30-40 whp and wtq which for a car like this boosting off the line and getting a 1.7-1.8 60 is huge on that final time

Good numbers, that 12.5 is hell of number! Not going to throw any tuners under the bus but he didn't have Adam's tune and was a 91 tune.. it felt quick with a CAI, IC but it still can't beat a stock GT. Adam's tune is on a different level from what I see.

A 91 tune is one thing, An Adam tuned E30 is a new world of fast for the ecoboost.

Brooo I just saw your sig! hows it like driving with the new turbo? Awesome probably but and even more so once you get that new housing. Are you gonna upgrade your HPFP or do you feel the car performs adequate enough. I know there's a ton of potential left on the table but prices still seem kind've high and experimental.

Aren't u guys afraid of blowing ur motors. I was planning on upgrading then I read too many stories and thought anything over 350hp to the wheels is just a time bomb waiting to go off ?? Please convince me otherwise. I would love to make the jump if I could do it safely.
