Anybody know of a track wrap that works on top of PPF (SunTek)? Would like to reinforce the front end without hurting the long term clear bra.

No. But I don't see why not. It's a temporary film for track days. I'd think it's safe over ppf.

Track tape isn't that sticky.

I used road wrap for my recent track day. It did help, but wasn't 100% effective

Actually, I think it was one of your posts that made me think about track wrap. Figured maybe ppf plus temporary wrap may come closer to 100% effectiveness. Let's hope...

I have over 6 track days with zero damage getting past my suntek ppf.

Doing it all over again, I would have the car professionally wrapped. One vs the other probably wouldn't make any difference. My situation was extreme. I left the splitter unprotected and it looks horrific. Little pits all over it. Looks almost like it has been sandblasted.

The road wrap did work to some degree, but it's adhesion wasn't the best and constantly needed to be reapplied. The fact that the front stretch saw speeds of 170 and with the most people having soft R compound tires made for a very harsh environment.

Again, it it was me, I would professionally wrap it (ppf, suntec, whatever). Then maybe road wrap over key areas. I had a screw hit my car that flew off another which hit my leading edge and put a gouge in it (the indentation looks like a sideways screw).

If you track it, do not expect it to be your pretty baby anymore. However if you ppf or suntec, that will be a lot better than road wrap.

Had SunTek applied to entire vehicle immediately after delivery. Made it through the spring/summer maintaining normal highway speeds 110-120mph with no chips or dings--knock on wood :headbonk:

Point about the track effect well taken though; Autobahn is a dinner table compared to the average track. Hence the reason for looking to reinforce the ppf.

As for the splitter, it'll be getting a new one next season. Learned some lessons, so just considering it "tuition"...

I hear ya. I have a spare splitter as well and that doesn't bother me that much. However the rest of the front end will have to be repaired. I cringe to think of how much its going to cost.

Lesson here is wrap the car, go ahead and use road wrap on top of that and you should be fine. Just realize that once you put her on the track, she will take a beating and hopefully the wrap you have will be enough.

The screw indentation would not have been stopped by PPF or suntek. Oh, be sure to protect your windscreen too. That's another story......
