I just got the full front and mirrors done in Suntek this week and starting to think about a wash. The installers said to use this expensive spray specific for PPF and to not use any colored sprays.

I of course have a bunch of chemical guy products from foam soap to VO7 detail spray and butter wax. Chemical guys even have a video about using VO7 spray on a clear bra. Now I'm wondering what to do here.

Would anyone with Suntek or expel like to comment on how they take care of their full front end coverage as well as any tips for how to ensure I get the best results from washing?

Thanks!

I have a full front clip Suntek PPF and still use the same Meguiars car wash detergent and same detailing sprays (Adam's, Mothers, Meguiars). No issues.

I also don't wax over the ppf. I just make sure it's dried clean with microfiber after using my portable car air blow drier.

Same here. I have Suntek on my GT350R and several other cars. I use the same products listed above without issue. I called Suntek last summer to ask what products to use to protect the film and they suggested a spray on carnuba wax. The key is to make sure the wax is 100% carnumba and does not contain silicon or petroleum products. I bought Turtle Wac 100% carnuba wax and it works great. Cheap and effective! I've been using it on my GT3 without ill effect.

Unrelated to the topic, how is your EVO? Haven't heard much about that car and am a big fan of the first gen Evo's (especially RS's and MR's)

And do you track the GT4? Any comparison to the RS and 350?

Haven't driven the EvoX much except around town... but mostly in Coral Gables area of Miami since that's where I store it indoors. I won't be tracking that really... more of just another toy for me. I also haven't tracked the GT4 yet neither... still highly enjoying the Focus RS for track and autox events. However I can confidently say that the GT4 blows away the RS but the gap narrows down on the tight technical turns since that's where the RS can exploit its handling & corner rotation. As for the GT4 vs. the GT350 the benefit for the GT4 will also be in the corners where it can maintain speed & momentum better than the much heavier & bigger GT350. The GT4 is really a precision scalpel compared to the two Fords. The downside is the lower hp, purposely done by Porsche. This is where the GT350 outguns the GT4.

Btw one of my fav Evos is Gen VI especially the Tommy Makinnen edition. Sorry for the off topic but this legend is cool as heck in my book.

On a side note, I noticed around the forward wheel vents that my PPF is cut around the area and shows an outline vs being wrapped to conceal the lines. Is that acceptable? I was under the impression I would not see any lines by doing full front hood and fenders.

Wash it the same way you would without it. Just NEVER hit it with a buffer. Do not use any paint correction or polish on PPF. Wax is fine but a ceramic sealer is best in my pinion. If you have your car detailed by a shop, make sure they know there is PPF and remind them not to use any rotary or D/A tools on it.

Mine is this way too. I guess they just didn't want to remove the vents but this looks like it was pre-cut as part of pattern. I can also see this around the headlights. I wanted the trunk wrapped and the where the fenders meet the door. I also wanted the GT350 emblems removed to cover that whole area. They did ll of this. Due to the intricacy of the bumper, they really can't do that whole thing with a single piece. I've seen 3 that were wrapped and they all looked the same as mine. On my bumper you really have to look hard to notice it's not all one piece.

I think it depends if they are using a pattern or, are freestyling.

I have been using this and it works great. Reviews are excellent. Can buy on Amazon. Bought mine at tap plastics. Great for our interior and for our stripes if you have them.
