Yeah I know what you mean on the Konis. Based on Rebellion's feedback on the R fronts and SP085 rears paired with the FRPP dampers, it works quite well for significantly improved handling without making it too harsh for daily driving (and actually improving the composure over most road imperfections).
Yeah, definitely a very driveable setup...and Houston suburb roads are no good compared to Chicago. It did take a few days for the dampers to get an acceptable rate, after the first week it was just like I expected, after the second it's a tad softer and slightly more comfortable. Nothing to do with the springs, just the dampers. Those track dampers are stiff as hell when new (noticed that when reinstalling the rears).

One thing I did notice is that, the dampers behaved sort of not linear the first few days (specially on rebound)...but after the first week, they are good.

Is not race car stiff, for me it's just right for a pony car. No problems with quick turns at 50-60 mph, very composed and zero wobbly wobbly feel. Up and down just the way it's supposed to be. The overall response is quick and very predictable.

Alrighty so I got this installed over the weekend. All I can say is, is that I am over the moon happy with how everything came out. It feels like a true sports car. I do not know how else to explain it. Less nose dive, smoother transitions, better turn in, it's all there and its all great. This is how these cars should feel. I was a little afraid it would be a little rough and harsh and it would be something I would have to live with. This is not the case. And let me tell you...our roads are absolutely terrible. My daily route is filled with bad roads, bumps, cracks, holes, bad patch work, etc. (especially on the interstate and in my neighborhood). I don't want to say it soaks up the bumps as it sounds like something a crownvics suspension does but that's essentially what it does. It stays so composed over the road and imperfections. To me, the compression and rebound is perfect with this setup. It all works together. Reminds me a lot of when I had the Greanleafprime GT500 setup on my first 07'. It just all simply works together.

I have the Black Accent package with the 19" wheels and it sits perfectly. Once it all settled, it looks fantastic. Forgot to get the before and after measurements, sorry about that. You can definitely tell the drop brought out some more camber in the rear. The front was easy with the camber plates. My gauge shows I now have about -2.4 in the rear. Up from the -1.5ish from factory. I'll be bringing it back a little this weekend hopefully.

The install was pretty straight forward coming from the S197's. Man those front strut/knuckle bolts are in there good. Took a many a whacks from the mini sledge to get it out. And those front springs are uber long. Light weight but really long. Since it was my first time working with the IRS, I didn't get any pics from doing the rears since I was concentrating on doing everything correctly. It was funny to see how the base shock has a larger shaft then the PP one but oh man let me tell ya. The compression/rebound on the PP is definitely far greater. Took my entire weight on the shock to start to bring it down to put it back up in the rear mount. Oh yea...I was pretty frustrated to see that the new front struts didn't come with the bottom spring isolators. I ended up having to take apart my stock struts. Wasn't really a big deal, was just trying to avoid it to make an easy swap.

Got late during the install and our weather is craecrae out here right now. We'll have upper 30-40's at night and then like today will be 78, with rain and humid and muggy as fack. I'll have to get some good photos this weekend.

Nice! This is GT350 front monotubes + R fronts + PP rear shocks and SP088 rears?

Did the monotube struts come with the bumpstops and dust boots?

Cool stuff, welcome to the Shelby/BMR club!

I have the black accent too, mine ended up somewhere 1.9 or so on the rears. Fronts are well within specs without any camber bolts or plates. About the rears, I believe right now I have 1.6 or so...I might pull them back to 1.0-1.2 this weekend. I have a feel that with my current roll stiffness (barely rolls any), I can getaway with a more vertical setup.

What rear camber do you plan to use on yours?

Yes sir, that's correct. Should have specified, sorry about that!

Yep, the struts came with new bumpstops and dustboots. Just no lower rubber spring isolator, which is DG9Z-8321-A if anyone wanted to know. Did have to reuse the stock stuff on the rear.

Thanks! I really, really enjoy this setup. Measuring my camber before this is what I got.

LF: 1.05
RF: 1.10
LR: 1.50
RR: 1.90

I need to go back and verify after, maybe tonight. I know the LF is like 1.25 and the LR was like 2.40 when I did a quick check after. But I plan on getting the rear around 1.7 or so.

I tried doing a quick search, do we know what the factory calls for, both front and rear? And what works well for a good street/autox/track day setup with these S550's?

Pics of this setup? I'd like to see the drops if you have any. Thanks!

I know! I'm so behind on this. Last weekend it had rained all weekend and then this past weekend was so busy. By the time I get home from work its dark as fak but I'm hoping this Friday (less rain...) I'll get some good ones to post up!

So now I'm between this GT350R front spring/strut using my rear PP shock/BMR SP088 vs Swifts and my stock PP strut/shocks. Thank for another idea......

Depends on what lowering you want.

I like the GT350R front (and GT350 strut) and SP088 rear for the minimal drop (.75" front, 0.5" rear).

Don't forget, the GT350 front Monotube strut is going to be much better than the OEM PP front strut.

An inch or less as I get why I need suspension travel.

I'd go With the GT350/BMR setup every time if you're looking for the least lowering.

Agreed. I really love this setup. Even though it's "minimal" lowering, it's not like its NOT noticeable. You can definitely tell the car is lowered. With 19", it's absolutely a perfect stance. Will definitely have to get them pics up asap.

Yeah...mine should be exactly the same drop as yours, while in numbers it's nothing, it has a very significant effect. I do have to be careful of bottoming out and hitting speed bumps (thanks god for jacking rails). Today I was looking around the dealer lot, the difference in looks is very obvious even though it's just 0.5"/0.75".

There was this other guy, I'm pretty sure he's got eibach pro's...which in numbers is no thaat much lower than mine, but it looks totally slammed compared to stock. Needless to say, I'd stay with the gt350r/bmr setup, can't afford to go any lower.

I have a set of Koni Sports in the garage and 082/089 BMR springs but I'm thinking about going with the 350r front springs and BMR rears, along with the Koni's. Would this be a harsh ride as a daily driver? What's the best rear BMR spring to pair with the 350r front for a daily driver. Also could I use the 082's with the 350r fronts? Or are the Handling/Drag springs a must.

SP085 rear for the Koni's, just like Rebellion has (he has the FRPP Track dampers, though). I wouldn't use the 082's with Koni's as it'll likely be too much for that spring at anything but the softest setting, and too firm on compression as well. I do think it'll be a bit harsh for a DD. FRPP Track or Steeda's adjustables would probably be better, even paired with the firmer springs, but I guess try with the Koni and see what you think. This stuff is very subjective.
