In for pics of the two welded together!
I don't have pix of that, unfortunately. He would never show it. I had thought he would talk to you about it at one point - he's hardcore BMR squad for sure.

I wanted to see that, too. He sold the car recently to get a truck, so it's at some metal yard now I'm sure getting sent to China to make windmills.

Our CB005 is actually a massive hit in the road course / handling world. With great track results to back it up. ;)
I'm sure I'll meet another CB005 owner at the road course some day. The one S550 I came across was on A/S tires and only had the CB005 installed for mods, wasn't even a PP car, etc... and he was no competition (not that HPDE is about that). I see the CB005 on a "mod list" at drag strips a lot, plus it's evident your company is drag-rooted (not road course incapable, just drag-rooted). Steeda is road course-rooted (but not drag strip-incapable... I mean, my car gets good times if I'm not the one driving it down a 1/4 mile haha). Y'all's approach to suspension design, which often may lead to addressing the same weakness of the OEM design, has different flavors. Two different philosophies, vantage points, motivations, etc. Sometimes different results. At least this is what I see in the product, where you both show it off, and how your cars get setup.

One day someone will let me take a relatively equally setup S550 around a track, just with BMR parts instead of Steeda. We'll see... :)

Yup, I think you make a great point wildcatgoal

But - then there are the massive amount of road course S550 cars out there competing, running BMR.

Cliff Elliott, Jay Payson, Jeremiah Stotler, Aaron Sockwell - all 4 of these cars "Earned" their way to the Optima Challenge recently. Earned from winning and performing well - not earned from being voted in. They were the ONLY S550 cars to win their way in, and all 4 are BMR Equipped. ;)

So there is opinion and there are results. I prefer results, as you will always see me posting about.

A great accomplishment achieved by great drivers with great attitudes and dedication toward packaging their car in a way that suits them, certainly not due to having one company's LCA bearing over another.

There is a reason a seasoned drag racer can take my car down a strip, driving it for the first time with it still setup with a ton of camber and ride height for a road course, and best my own 1/4 PB by a long shot. The driver mod. I'll never be a good drag racer. I don't care about becoming one. But, baring financial setbacks and/or the loss of my car for some reason, I will make my way to these kind of "scored" events in the future.

I'll see you there.

I am a Steeda supporter and have been since their S550 parts started to hit the market.

I have their full setup of suspension parts excluding the rear toe links and rear camber arms (both of these will be arriving at my house soon to fully complete my Steeda suspension). They have also handled the installation of all the parts at this point. They are all very professional, helpful and down to earth people who truly care about their customer and ensuring they are truly happy with every part that they have installed with the Steeda name on it. They have a proven track record of ~30 years in the Mustang (Ford) world that is unmatched and continue to expand and build that reputation. I am beyond happy with all the parts that I have installed. They all perform as advertised or better and make my car a very compliant and capable car that will exceed many folks expectations.

For those unaware of Steeda and their Valdosta location. Please watch this video. You will see their incredible building and all the pieces inside that building that make Steeda an amazing company to do business with.

You car is beautiful Todd, you have made some really good choices with it. I am happy to say I laid my own two eyes on it :eyebulge:

Steeda is a massive company who does more than suspension lets not forget that. They are involved with every nook & cranny of car building and have proven themselves over almost 3 decades. I am a loooonnnng (old) time fan and I will be for life. As the end user I could not be happier. I have been helped by some pretty professional and friendly people over the years there and have not once been treated like anything other than a member of the family.

On the flip side, BMR has given me top of the line customer service and also has great parts. It would seem they focus on the drag racing & track crown the most but nonetheless they make great products for the everyday car guy as well. Next to Dustin Whipple customer support Kelly from BMR has been stellar with many off hours conversations. Cant say enough about that guy.

Just wish the company bashing would stop lol. Not something us the end users should have to read or even know about and it sure doesn't help potential new customers

Well said my friend and thanks for the compliments on my car. Your "old" car was beautiful and badass and I saw it with my own eyes, too:D. Can't wait to see the one at some point.

My loyalty is 100% Steeda. They have treated me like family and go out of their way to support the Atlanta S550 club, too. Their engineers and management are just a phone call away for anyone. They will talk shop and go into the most granular level of detail on their products, why they work the way they do, why they designed it the way they did, how best to setup your suspension for what you are trying to accomplish, etc.

I have zero against BMR and Kelly. I think they do an excellent job at engineering and producing parts for the S550 and other platforms for that matter. Both companies are great for the S550.

Having forums and social media, certainly add another dimension to the business world and attracting and keeping customers vs. how it was back in the 90's as that was all magazine reading and testing done by said magazines. I don't mind the banter as long as it never turns personal as we can always learn something during technical discussions on parts, etc. They both have a great forum presence here along with Facebook, answering technical questions by the hundreds on the many difference FB groups that cater to the Mustang and S550 specifically.

Thanks buddy.

I guess I could have been clearer about the banter. Yes, agreed, getting research & design info is great and I hope to get more. I also agree as long as it stays to this and the personal shitting on the other company stays off the forum we all win.

I wish Steeda had a shop up here in the North East, I'd be there regularly as I am also a huge fan. Guess I'll have to live vicariously through you lucky people who live near the company lol.

I'm not claiming the brand LCA bearings make them winners.

I'm claiming that BMR is the most proven and has the best track record, while also being used on thousands of cars for daily use.

Seeing your stickers on cars that paid for their parts, and are performing at their levels, is priceless. It's good to know these guys rely on our stuff.

You've missed my point.

They day Steeda comes on this forum and proclaims that their parts above all others are why I achieved something that required me to fork over exceptional amounts of my money and my time to develop as a driver, develop my car to my liking, and accept broad risk to myself and my car is the day I lose respect for them. I'll give the credit where credit is due.

So again, congratulations to those drivers. And I'm glad, for you, that they chose your parts. Of course your stuff is proven, so is Steeda's. I just "proved" Steeda parts last summer passing a Cayman GTS and Corvette C7 three times at AMP... under that logic. To claim "most proven" as a fact isn't flying with me. "Well proven" (and rightfully so), sure. What I've noticed with the road course crowd is that they (like me) care little about "most proven" claims when the primary barrier to providing that "proof" is the expenditure of the immense amount of resources necessary to develop as a driver and equip the car to class and participate in these kinds of events. This is why Steeda developed their race car. This is why you are developing Project Stockonaut. Most proven comes from winning class ranks. Steeda has a whole bunch of those. I'm sure you do, as well. Still comes down to the driver for the most part in the end. Always will.

I look forward to coming across a similarly equipped BMR-primary car and, even if I get spanked, having an intelligent, non-combative conversation with him/her about our cars and why - technically - we did what we did to our cars and what the differences panned out to be. I'm personally not loyal to a brand (unless they're paying me... then I guess I'd have to be). And I'm willing to bet the conclusion is... driver mod.

Right. So the answer to the thread is #drivermod

I'll accept that ;)

A solid example of what you mention above can be seen at The Firm in Starke Florida. It's a 1.5 mile track with about 11 turns. The owner of one of the Steeda development cars (yellow GT) with about every mod on earth, with good tires, runs 1-2 second slower than my bone stock car with only CB005 and worse than stock tires. He has been to the track a few times, and me, only once ever. Natural born driver, I'll accept it! :headbang:

You should try and make it there sometime. How long of a drive is it to Starke for you? The car to beat at that track is modded like yours...except less, and all BMR (cb005 too) - would be sweet to see if someone can out run him. He just started racing, as a convert from drag racing, and thus far no other Mustangs can even get close to him.

stoli we need to have an event just to get some S550s out to beat your times at The Firm. ;)

Also, did the yellow car ever get into the 1.20's yet?
