But the plastic beds on the Tacomas don't rust just everything else. And if your fan of drum brakes......
The Frontier is the best deal for an honest midsize truck.

Like ford or anyone else doesnt have their own set of issues? Dont throw stones in glass houses. I personally will continue to buy toyota suvs a tacomas. I wouldnt buy a tundra only because of their lack of gas turbo engines or diesel in the segement. I buy fords in full size truck segement. The tundra doesnt tow enough. Toyotas typically are the most reliable with highest resale by far in their segments.

I would love to get a Explorer for my wife's next SUV, but I honestly just can't expose her to Ford service experience, should she need to use it - I'm not that mean. So staying with Highlander.

I guess all the manufacturers have their problems. I had a company truck that was a Tacoma that I used that took me to the Marcellus Shale sites in the middle of nowhere throughout West Virginia, and my other job sites in Pa. That truck just kept going and going. Super reliable and got me through the snow on roads that were single lane and no winter maintenance. Most of the trucks at that engineering firm I worked for were Tacomas.

Ford trucks are the best for a reason. No import will ever come close. Sorry import lovers. It's true like it or not. Same goes to you dodge and Gm guys.

Believe it or not the F150 is what considers midsize. I know what you'll say but it's true.

If you like them that's fine to each there own. Just remember how much you like them wile you wait five months to get your truck back after the frame change. I have a friend who has already had a frame change on his Tacoma and he's still taking it back for the dealer to fix things they've broke our damaged wile they had it. And it did take five months.

I'd buy another Ford truck, again. I have a Dodge truck now and will never buy a second one.

Ive never had an issue with any frames. None in the two tacomas ive had. None in the one land crusier my wife had. None in the 1 highlander she had and none in the 2 4 runners. Incase you weren't aware the 4runner is on the tacoma chassis. Did i mention for the better part of the 90s i was a toyota master tech. Should we discuss problem with fords? I was a ford master tech as well. To act snobbish like ford hasnt had its own issues with certain things is a fools errand. Are you a fool? Ford definitely isnt some superior manufacturer. Ive had just as many fords as toyotas. Im far from biased. I enjoy ford trucks. What i buy is dictated by my demands of the vehicle. I buy what works, whats good. Its why i buy fords and toyotas, no dodge no chevy.

Two words. RUST BELT.
Trying living in a rust belt state and see how nice a vehicles looks after a few years old that's daily driven. I know, I'm a mechanic and I have to deal with it on a daily basis. A wheel bearing hub in a Texas truck might come right out without any problems, in Michigan guess again.

I do not say Fords don't have problems they do but what gets me is those people who think toyota is the best thing since sliced bread. I do have to say you do not seem to be one of those people. I only buy Ford and that's my right but I am like you I would never buy a chevy our a dodge.

I refuse to buy any import vehicle and anyone who says or thinks they are built better is blind. And don't tell me they are all made in the USA. THEY MIGHT BE assembled here but the profits go right back to Asia. Pisses me off that we allow Japan the right to sell cars here but we can't sell ours in Japan.
