Frankly it's a amazing that Toyota - despite the lawsuit - is going to replace the frames.
I would not anticipate the same from Ford, Chevy, or Dodge. They'd just pay a fine and maybe give the owners a discount on their next [car brand] purchase.
Knowing a Toyota Service Advisor, Toyota has approved replacements of engines that never had an oil change in 30K - clear owner neglect. But they don't want their reputation of reliability to be harmed. With my Ford Fiesta, the transmission clearly had a mind of it's own and it took a gray hair inducing fight to get it replaced... and it was a bad design (clutch material and programming) - not my fault. If Toyota made something I liked, I'd have one.
