I understand how it works.

I was pointing out that both blocking heat from the cats and scooping cool air to the trans case have been tried on the GT350. Both failed. Now I don't know if both heat reducing measures were tried at the same time and that may be the difference.

But without actual measurements before installation and after installation on comparable laps then I don't think I'm buying that this is gonna do anything.

Bottom Line for me, if it's not gonna get me an HPDE session then it's not a good fix. I'm still leaning towards a cooler kit.
Oh I agree. I wasn't saying it would solve the problem. Just saying it could reduce the temperature. I'm waiting to see what Shelby comes out with, looks like they care about the Shelby name enough to at least give options. Ford on the other hand has washed their hands of it.

FYI - I know you all are going to laugh, but I did get another email from Ford Performance tonight saying they are still working on a BOM for us. They said they plan to market the cooler and allow anyone to buy it, but only allow tech/base owners to buy the transmission with the pump in it.

I'm really surprised it's taking so long. A BOM seems like a 10 minute operation to me. They must have a heck of a lot of red tape to get through.

^This, I have other words for it besides "red tape." Ford has some serious internal issues that need to be fixed. My company is as dysfunctional as the next, but the customer rarely sees it. This constant shit show is on full display on a number of different fronts from Ford for all to see.

Thanks for the update anyway Hack.

Just got an update from FP, kit is 6-8 weeks out.
Yeah so it took them basically a fckn year to come up with a cooler kit! You gotta be kidding me. FP you suck. Just in time for winter!

FP you were quick to develop a oil catch can that the aftermarket already had covered. And I'll bet to say that the consumer buys more aftermarket oil catch cans than the FP brand (Although I have both FP cans). Instead of putting all your attention into a oil catch can that you hardly sell, why not put more attention into something that you know will sell and bring it to market when it was needed the most. In case you don't get it, I'm talking about trans and diff coolers. A day late and a buck short! Nothing worse than waiting months for a track car to be delivered and another year wait because it goes into limp mode and can't be tracked.
Thanks FP.

Well it cost ford their first car from my household last month. Bought my son an Accord instead of a Fusion. January there will be a Chevy truck in my driveway replacing my Ford. When my Moms lease is up on her Escape I will be leasing her something else. Only decision now is to keep this thing or trade for a z06 or GS in January when the discounts around here are commonly 8k or more for vettes.

We had been a Ford family for my entire life pretty much. I just cant take their shit any longer. My experience with the F150 hasn't been much better and out of the 6 or so dealers I have used I can trust 1, and they also have some issues. Over the last several years Ford has done nothing to make me feel like a valued customer, well no more.

Hey Scott,
Not meaning to enrage you more but montreal ponies was being sarcastic - everything is six weeks out, starting tomorrow....

FP STILL has NOT released any details of the cooler kit or an actual way to order the kit/transmission. If others can rebut, feel free!

As you know I own a track pack. But it still pisses me off that FP has yet to bring anything they said to market for a car that's "track capable". Sure it's track capable, but on what size of track? 1/2 mile? Sarcasm is good. But truth is, that's not sarcasm, I'll bet FP still won't have a cooler kit in 6-8 weeks. And who cares then because it'll be WINTER!
My guess is, FP will have a cooler kit next late spring.

It may be winter where you are, but us living in the south, more specifically Florida, we still have track days!!!

I am going to Daytona in December and would have been nice to get the Trans cooler from FP.

Instead, I have taken upon myself to get the DIY mounted up and working. Hope to have the car back next week.

Yes, apparently Ford and its dealers' newest business model is "There's a sucker born every day."

I understand your views, but my point is they dropped the ball and their is no reason why it should of taken this long.
How hard would it be for FP to put together a trans cooler kit that has the OEM cooler, brackets, and hardware, an electric transfer pump and steel formed lines with crimped hoses on the ends that attach to the trans fill and drain ports? I mean come on. This is really not hard to do especially for a oem division.
