The computers track starts after the computer has been flashed. In the event that you were running a non-Ford tune and something happened, after flashing back to the Procal or stock tune, the start count will reset. This is not rocket science and has been the case for some time with technology.

If you are worried about warranty, get the Procal. If not, pick another and enjoy it as most of the well known tuners have their tunes dialed in but there is always a risk should something catastrophic happen.

Are you a certified mechanic?

I'm confused. I thought that Ford wouldn't issue the warranty, unless and until the installation was done by a certified installer, who filled out the paperwork?

You essentially opted out your warranty cause you couldn't wait a few more minutes? LOL!

That's what I was thinking. Ford doesn't care what you do now because your warranty = void.

The warranty isn't void. They just won't cover repairs that can be attributed to that aftermarket upgrade under warranty. There's still lots of other things that would be covered.

It would still be nice to see someone that has done this upgrade to post a dyno chart.

I'll make everyone a deal. Buy this for me and I will dyno it the same day I install it.

All he has to do is get any ASE certified mechanic to sign off on the install- which might only be lunch or a 6-pack if he has a friend who is a mechanic. Also, if he is close to the 3/36 mark, it's just not worth it to pay the dealer 2-300.00 to install it. I wouldn't.

I beg to differ, you would absolutely want to get it registered, the last thing you want a blown motor at 50k and having Ford wanting to deny your claim simply because you didn't get the tune installed by the dealer or ASE mechanic.
