I thought that the provision of the NSC to customers might have made a lot of inquiry work for Ford AU and they decided to hold off on providing that which may explain the inconsistency. I decided to look at the consistency of the Order Date -> VIN supply and that seems quite consistent being 7 to 8 months.
I'm only looking at orders placed this year as things would have had time to settle.
So interested in time between order placed and VIN date if any of you who ordered this year can provide that. My guess is 7.5 months is the average
Ordered 30 dec 15,nsc 25 june 16 and vin 25 august 16 so basically 8 months till my vin.Was built 6/9/16 on currently on the Tamesis.Looks like average?

So if 7-8 months until VIN, how long from VIN to Australia?

Mine must be close then, built the day after yours and at the terminal on 10 Oct 16. Probably end up on the next boat, still earlier than I was told just hard waiting now I know it is sitting on the dock.

Vinno,
You maybe lucky! Mine was delivered at Baltimore on 6 October. The Fidelio is not loading until Tuesday/Wednesday , so,there is still time!

Cheers

I'm on the Fidelio! :headbang:

EDIT: it now leaves Nov 5th instead of 4th, and arrives in Melbourne on the 10th of Dec instead of the 8th. :(

Can anyone tell me how to find out when it arrives at Baltimore. I have a build date of 28th Oct 2016 and cotusb.ford.com says in transit.

This might help you. Mine was built on the 5th October and has been in transit ever since. It i sits at the port until it gets a boat which is usually about a month from build. I expect to get a boat soon - probably the Tarago which leaves later this month. (But I won't be holding my breath). You should be notified when your vehicle is allocated a boat. Good luck but more than likely you still have a month to go before it is loaded. Be patient and look forward to 2017.

Welcome to the forum shawnd. Your question is a bit like asking how long a piece of string is, unfortunately. It depends on many factors, but here's what happened to my car.

'In production' 25th Oct

Status changed to 'awaiting shipment' the next day.

Status changed to 'in transit' on the 29th, I think.

Car actually arrived at Baltimore port 31st Oct. This seems a lot quicker than some experiences, and may have been due to the factory being idled the week before.

"Estimated Delivery' is listed as 12/11/16. I assume that date either means the day a ship is allocated, or the date it sets sail. The systems is designed for USA customers.

I am also tracking a relatives car that was built on the Oct 15th, and it still has not got a ship allocation, however, it 'lost' about three weeks having it's stripes applied. The car had to be put aside after coming of the production line so that the lengthy process can be done 'at leisure'.

I'd say February would be the earliest you can expect a delivery because of the festive season shutdown.
