I have a full bolt on 2015 ecoboost. On Saturday it caught on fire while driving down the freeway. I have comprehensive insurance but not including the upgrades. I just completed a recorded statement with my adjuster. She specifically asked about mods. I kept it general but was honest. What are the chances my insurance will not pay at least market value for a stock 2015 and just drop me like a rock?

i know who u r.. you asked the same question on FB as well. so you car caught fire , which everyone is guess due to oil leak and ur new turbo.

So it just depends mate, how intrinsic search the appraiser does.

i have seen hell lot of here, getting full money and also many of them denied due to mods.

so again its majorly ur luck

they were on these forum only. BUt the percentage is very low.
in Most cases i have read here. that people got maximum for the damages and if they had GAP then everything.

my dealership had one similar case of modded car getting blown up and the advisor told that person got everything back.

most insurance companys will only cover up to a certain amount of upgrades..or mods .. some companys are like 1500.. some are double .. just depends on your company

I dont think he is worried about the mods being covered, because like you said most insurance companies do cover about $1000 worth of add ons (radios, other mods) I think he is more concerned that they may say that the mods were the cause of the fire and therefore no payout

They would have to prove that and I hope he has some receipts saying this stuff was professionally installed just in case
