GT350 shifter from MGW almost here...

I think it is perfect. It is not as much as stock but doesn't need to be reduced further. I am still on the fence if I want the shifter to sit a bit lower, but I think that might counteract the smoothness of rowing through the gears as it currently is right now.

I kinda wish it were a LITTLE lower also but the "dual pivot" feature raises the system up so much that just getting it a bit lower than stock was a heck of a challenge lol...

I can only imagine the trials that went into this. Like I said, overall, couldn't be happier. The design, throw, and function is dead on.

I have had an MGW in 3 Corvettes and they are the best shifters in my opinion. I don't hate the GT350 stock shifter as much as the C7 shifter but those installs were very easy. Unfortunately I'm not prepared to lower my trans, even the small amount shown. I know this is a Ford design thing rather than an MGW thing but the GT350 shifter is not bad enough for me to tackle this project. I'm sure it will be an improvement though.

So in regards to throw reduction , i only went about 10 percent because i felt the trans was a bit notchy already.

What are your thoughts that have it installed? just right? not enough reduction?

Feels perfect how it is. Also, I really like the gt350 gripper knob. It looks great and I like it much more than the slick stock knob. Already tried a few hard 1-2 and 2-3 shifts and they have been flawless.

Huge difference. Very little play in the shifter while in gear. Also, the shifts are really solid and direct. To me it's worth it considering the shifter is something you are obviously using a lot.

It's a lot cleaner look now too without the reverse collar and how it sits a tad bit lower.

My son and I did the install of my MGW shifter today. Did it the hard way, on the garage floor with the car up on ramps. I figured it would take a couple hours - it worked out to be a little more than three. The 10mm bolt that attaches that shifter mount to the transmission was the hardest.....just very limited access. But the video instructions were spot on, and very complete - made the task pretty straightforward.

Was it worth it - absolutely! Shifting is now very precise, and solid. The throw is slightly reduced and the shifter sits slightly lower in the console. Each shift is quicker, but the 2-3 shift is effortless and lightening FAST. I put a classic white shift knob on mine as it matches my white exterior. I'm super happy with it, this thing rocks.

This shifter should be mandatory on this car, it's that good. If you have a GT 350, do yourself a favor and get one, makes the already pleasurable experience of driving this machine that much better. George and MGW have done a superb job.
