Unfortunately I don't think that we have the numbers to put a scare into ford.
If there were thousands of people maybe but I don't even know if there is a 100 people that would like to occasionally go to the track. What everyone that does not have a trans/diff cooler should realize that 240 degrees plus heat can not be good for there transmissions. Just my 2 cents
Ford did that risk assessment and figured even at 240 degrees it will be out of warrantee by the time it fails

If the shelby wasn't so damn awesome in most every other way It would be a lot easier for me to just sell it and move on!!

+1. It sucks that one company can't get it all right (awesome driving experience, reliable, great quality). For now, I'll deal with all of the fit and finish/cooling deficiency issues until a company does get it right. For me, the driving experience of this car is that good.

I'm probably in the one of the best position to sell being in Europe
I didn't pay an ADM, I can command a lot in the used market for it, and most likely get another allocation for a 2017 if I act fast.

Main obstacle is that I'm supposed to hold on to it for a year before I can sell it.

Most people would have to eat the ADM they paid and if they still want a Shelby they would eat another ADM. Its just a bad situation.

They don't monitor or enforce it. Besides, you have a very good reason to dump it.

The only way they will enforce it, is by not letting me buy a 2017.

I haven't even gotten to drive the damn thing yet. And my wife would use me selling it as a "I told you so" kind of moment.

I'll fix it and love it, but I'll have a very hard time justifying buying a Ford again.

If you make money on it, why would she care? You would think she would be happy that you flipped it for a profit. Ami missing something?

I'd live with the "I told you so" and get a '17..... but that's just me. I think you put it well in one of your earlier posts that the constant high temps will cause a transmission failure just after the warranty ends. If you do the cooler install, you probably would take away from the value of the car. I wouldn't buy a Frankenstein. You have a great opportunity here. Buy the '17 and then dump the tech OR have your wife buy the '17 and then dump the tech.

Your missing the years of me trying to get a Shelby. She is sick of the pursuit. I've been talking about Shelbys our entire marriage, trying "actively" since 2013 MY. ADMs and an assignment to Turkey killed that, so winning an MAS allocation made this dream come true. And even that was an adventure to get. So it's in the garage and she's happy she doesn't have to see me go through this process anymore.

Don't get me wrong, I wish I could sell it and get another. But if I sell this car the next choice is either her or another Shelby.

I put her through hell (not fighting) but telling her about every detail and how this is such a great car.

If you are stuck with the 16 tech, I would recommend getting the coolers anyway possible and stay away from the forums. I know you won't do the second part. But, honestly you would enjoy the car a lot more. These places are great for information, but they are also overall very negative. You end up seeing and worrying about things you normally wouldn't.

There are somethings I see that don't bother me much like fitment and having to get hardware to use Apple CarPlay.

I am bitter that Ford allowed this situation and won't fix it. Like I've said. One way or another I will fix it in time.

Then order one of the two FP cooling solutions when they become available. FWIW, I don't think that adding a cooling kit is going to kill your transmission warranty any more than adding a bigger radiator kills the engine warranty (it doesn't). If you buy the new transmission kit then hey, you have a spare.

I'd probably wait and at least drive the car first though. Just me.

As an aside, the '13/'14 GT500s you were wanting are very different cars than the 350. Low end torque for days, and when that supercharger kicks in... I wonder if you're going to be disappointed with the 350 because it isn't the car you wanted all along.

I'm probably going to buy all the rear diff cooling parts and the transmission and the tranny cooling parts and install them all myself. Not sure whether I'll sell my existing transmission or not. I probably will.

But.. I'm probably going to wait a few months and install them in December or January when I'm not using the car much. Then if I have it apart for a few weeks while I'm working on it that won't be a big deal. I'd like to get my roll bar and harness fit in at that time as well, and possibly a seat for track days. I might see how the harness feels before buying a custom seat.

I will wait another month or so and see what happens in the meantime before buying anything. I'd love if Ford Performance would help us with the rear diff cooling parts rather than leaving it entirely up to us to do. However, I don't think it will be a huge deal.

Never got to drive a GT500 either. I've been a fan of Shelbys for a long time.

I'm sure I'll like my Shelby; I just don't like the fact that heat is going to wear it out quicker than usual.
