He is selling them for $2,700, a price he can't advertise. If you can find a better deal, jump on it because that is very reasonable.
Thanks Epiphany! Do you know if this trans would accept the cooler kit pending from FP? Do these use the fill and drain openings or do they have dedicated connections for the lines?

I read it as this is the GT350 Track package version of the transmission. so we would need all the other track trans cooling parts

So best case scenario, we will have to wait till vendors get access to the "kits" driving down the price. Around 4K in parts eventually? In the end, it's still cheaper for me to drop 4k on parts and install it myself then take a hit on my 16', look for months for an MSRP deal on a 17' and pay taxes again... Ford doesn't want to give tech owners a hand out or a deal on this fix. I guess the least Ford could do is give a 17' allocation at MSRP for the gents who want to trade up.

I was thinking about trading my 16 tech for a MY17 I figured I could get the color I really wanted. The dealer here in New Haven Area wanted to give me only $45,ooo trade in then I would have to Pay adm again. And I only had 900 miles on my car at that time It was going to be about a $35000 dollar hit to my wallet. No thanks I will add the coolers for under $10k with a trans swap.:headbonk:

I move around a lot, so I cant always have a track near me.

So the external about $1k option for now

Then if I settle in an area with a convenient track then maybe I'll invest in a $4k option, but I wont go over that and it will be aways away

So they hose you on trade and still mark up the 17? Dirty. Bet they would try and sell yours for over MSRP.

Nice how can they justify a ADM while giving you such a poor trade in value

Today I got a message from Mike at Buyfordracing that he has the just released Ford Racing TR3160 transmissions (with coolant pump) in stock. Retail on these is $4,800.

https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-7000-M8S

Thank you for the information. It is appreciated. $2,700 is a decent price for a non-warrantied transmission. Assuming we get $1,000 core for our existing transmission - out of pocket $1,700 is OK.

A price like that makes me feel like Ford is going out of their way to try to help tech pack owners, rather than trying to milk us for more money while dropping our warranty.

The tech package owners that have had documented problems with limp mode should be able to purchase all the coolers as well for a reasonable price. The track pack car cost $6500 more than the base, and that price included magneride. I would like to be able to install the new parts myself including transmission and rear diff coolers with all the wiring and sensors, etc. and end up out of pocket less than $4500.

I don't think it's too much to ask when we are losing our warranty coverage and we either have to pay for installation or do it ourselves.

Does anyone even know if they will accept a trans w/o pump for a core. If they are selling that trans for $2700 I tend to doubt they would be taking off another $1000 for the core. I may be wrong and I hope I am but I don't think so

I always thought the core charge if authorized was already included in the pricing, still making this $2700. so you would actually pay $3700 until you sent in the core

I highly doubt it, while that would be awesome, you would have a pump, or holes for the pump, with nothing to put there. Then they would have to completely upgrade your car to 17 specs as far as the trans and supporting parts go. While I would love to see you get just that, I would break mine tomorrow (joking), I just can't imagine that would happen.
Just got off the phone with my dealership and got the part# for the transmission they are sending to put in my car. It's the same part # Epiphany has on the transmission he ordered. FR3Z 7003-E. Now I just have to buy the rest of the cooler kit. So, good news after all.

Maybe that is the way to go...... Find some noise or issue and get a warranty replacement transmission and then just add some coolers.

I wonder how much leeway a dealer has when a customer complains of a transmission problem?
