When you get down to it, it has a damn Track setting...but it cant be tracked...Its pure BS... but luckily I have a shop with the skills to address this issue so I can go to the track this spring and not have to deal with Ford...and in the end, Ill have a bad ass, Track Capable GT350 with all the Tech goodies and comforts...

No, but I did manage to get the diff into the red zone on one session out of like 13. It didn't limp or anything but I did come in early as a result. So, really, 3 for 3 on new FP cars having some sort of light-track use limitation. These cars are too "smart" now. I'm beginning to long for the blissfully ignorant models of years past that you could track all-day and still seem to have them not break after many tens of thousands of miles of road use.

It's laughable that someone would say I shouldn't expect my $60,000 Shelby GT350 with 500 h.p. High reving flat plane bad ass motor, big bad ass brakes, bad ass shocks, and all the advertised badassery such as a "Track Mode" setting to be capable of out performing a $35,000 Mustang GT at an occasional track outting. You guys keep saying these cars (tech) were not designed to be tracked..... Show me anything that says that before these issues showed up. I talked to several dealers before buying my car, it was explained to me that the tech package was an upgrade to the car. I had no idea it was missing anything. I was under the impression it was the same mechanically as the track pack but with some added comforts in the interior that were not on the track pack to keep them(track packs) lighter and more race car like. I knew the R had some superior features/deletes as its an R as in Race Car! In the end no big deal I will add coolers to my car, both trans and rear diff, this winter. I've done it to lesser cars in the past. Cars that I knew when I bought them were not "built for the track". The fact that these cars are built the way they are with all of the track goodies and then left hanging without the ability to actually use them is like being born with a huge penis that won't get hard!!! Sorry for the rant but if you guys can't understand why people have the feelings they have about this issue then.....well I'll just stop here. Don't want to be a dick...

Just want to add that if I had bought a track pack car I would be spending the same money upgrading some things in the interior so it's not a money thing for me at all. It's more of a disappointment as to what I bought vs. what I thought I was buying. Again very awesome car still even with its short comings, just can't believe it would have left Ford like

Ford even states it, in one of the owners supplements, that the Base and Tech 350's can "certainly be driven on the track....", qualifying that statement with a strong "suggestion" that one should purchase aftermarket coolers if they plan to track their car for "extended sessions". I, like many other other Tech buyers, was confident that I would be able to drive the crap out of the car for 20 - 30 minutes, at which time my body goes into limp mode. Hell, some guys can't even get down the highway! There's enough to justify legal action, for sure, but Ford's not going to sweat the small sh**. That's us, small sh**.

It's okay, I'll fiss it mmsulf. Still love my car to death and doubt I'll ever really track it anyway....hell I never even get to drive it. Just turned 190 miles...kinda starting to piss me off. Oh well being busy with work is a good thing.

I love the comment "my body goes into limp mode" hahaha, mine probably will too. I'll find out in about 1 month! Track Attack! Although I probably should just cancel, after all I bought a lowly tech car......surprised we even get to go... We probably shouldn't get the Supplement package either, just a box of shit....lmao

Although I probably should just cancel, after all I bought a lowly tech car......surprised we even get to go... We probably shouldn't get the Supplement package either, just a box of shit....lmao

190 miles? How do you resist? I had 250 after 2 days. We had a lot of "showing off" to do. I didn't know about limp mode back in December, so we were breaking it in "Tx Style". Must've done at least 25 hard runs to 100MPH. And we drove to Houston and back, then Oklahoma and back. My wife had the cruise control set at 90 going to Oklahoma. (Suddenly, those Indian casinos are a lot closer to Dallas). LOL.

Afterthought: 2800 miles, still no limp experiences. No track time, but we drive it like we stole it every chance we get.

I have more work than I can keep up with right now plus I just put a 1500sq.ft. addition on my house, it's a log house so it's allot of work. I also just built a new 60x132 riding arena for my kids and am building some stalls in it. Then there is all of the regular life stuff.... On top of that I don't keep my car at home right now because of all of the construction, I have projects in all of my buildings that I don't want the car around. It's a 30 min ride to where it lives right now so there is no just jumping in it and taking off. Like I said it is starting to piss me off. So many times I want to drive it but it's too much hassle. Next summer should see much more time for the car.....I hope.

I just spoke with Ford Performance. You can order the Track/R transmission for around 4K and have it installed at the shop of your choice. Option 2 is the M70955M85 transmission cooler kit for $600 and have it installed at the shop of your choice (available in 6-8 weeks).

If you thought Ford was going to assist owners with either the cost of the part or the labor to install, you were dead wrong. I have been under this delusion for almost a year now.

I asked the FP representative about more details on the cooler (drawings, installation instructions, type of pump, etc.) and he said all he had was the part number.

Great. Spend a bunch of money and trash my warranty. I love this.

Lemers, quite simply, a GT350 that is going to be tracked should take advantage of the cooling hardware designed to allow extended performance. If you don't like the solutions offered by FR's parts division then they can't help you.

I like the solution. Why do they have to kill my warranty when I buy their solution? It's like a slap in the face! $4,000 for a transmission with no warranty. Wow, thanks Ford. I'm not asking for anything for free. I would like to get a decent price on parts where Ford isn't making a killing AGAIN and I really don't want to throw away my warranty. Why does anyone think I should be ok with losing my warranty on my relatively new $60k car - especially when I want to take it to the track! If I wanted a track car with no warranty I wouldn't have spent $60k on it, that's for sure!

That sir is a lemon law issue. If your car is going limp on the streets within normal parameters, they have to fix it. Document and send off for service.

I've liked Ford since I was a kid. I own 3 right now and I've owned lots of them in the past. I have the stupid photo of Jay Leno with the Ford GT from popular mechanics titled "I'd rather have a Ford" posted in my cube at work. I feel mistreated. I like the car, but I see no reason to be "loyal" to Ford in the future. If I like something else I will buy it. I really feel like going out of my way to get rid of the Ford.

Why do I have a feeling that our transmissions are all but warrantless at this point. I fear that if I take it to ford, they will deny service by saying it was caused by "abuse"

I had what was probably one of the first TR3160's available as soon as Ford Parts and Service was able to sell them.











Mind you it was more than $4,000 and that was just over dealer cost from Tousley (and had no internal pump). Core charge additional. Today I got a message from Mike at Buyfordracing that he has the just released Ford Racing TR3160 transmissions (with coolant pump) in stock. Retail on these is $4,800.

He is selling them for $2,700, a price he can't advertise. If you can find a better deal, jump on it because that is very reasonable.
