We are well aware where you stand on this topic and you definitely have the right to an opinion, but that does not mean you are right or that your opinion is worth a shit. With that said, we also have or own opinions and here is mine. If FORD puts out a $60k car with the name Shelby on it, it better damn well be track capable. Did they say it was track capable? YES, and they advertised it that way. They didn't say only our R and Track Pack gt350s are track capable and the other 2 are just novelties. If it wasn't meant to be tracked then why put a Track mode option on it? Hell even the Magna-Ride suspension was a waste for that matter. And, another thing, I think it is pretty embarrassing on Ford's behalf to sell a car with the GT350 name on it, that is less capable than the Mustang GT on the track.

I was wondering about this the other day, so to be clear a base or tech pack 350 car will go into limp mode before a gt?

I fixed mine back in April. About $1000 in parts and a days labor. Here's a view from right wheel well of the remote pump. It's on a plate bolted to the K member, It's directly below the starter. RB Gear pump , OEM cooler, duct, 15' of AN line some fittings.
I wish that I lived close to you. I would be glad to pay you to due this install on my car.

What pump did you use?
Is it always on, turns on automatically, manual turn on?
How loud is it? Heard from inside the car? Heard for outside? Heard over the engine?

So - I feel I should say something. I'm not into this tactic of a bunch of people calling on the same day and hammering the customer service people. It's not their fault and Ford knows how we feel. Believe me, they know. I don't think we are going to be able to bully them into doing something for us.

I wish you luck for getting a good result, but I'm not planning to participate. I hope you understand why. I'm very frustrated too and I completely get why you are planning to do this.

Thanks Hack. Completely understand your position. Just for clarification, I am not planning on hammering anyone. I'm gonna ask for an update on the report FPP engineer Dave Born gave in March 2016 stating FP was working on cooler kits for base/techs. I figure six months later, it's appropriate to ask for an update.

I get what you are saying, but I don't plan trying to bully anybody. I'm just going to have a rational and hopefully pleasant conversation with somebody about my thoughts on the issue.

How else do you propose we get them to hear us and do something?

Is there a Ford Service Rep on this forum?
On the ford-trucks forum, there is a rep that monitors/posts and has been a huge help getting issues resolved that we didn't think would ever get fixed.
For example, here's the sig from "Ford Service":

[this is not my sig, even though it looks like it]

FP and Ford have had more than enough time to fix the problem. Members on this forum have done there own trans fix months ago. It is not that hard. If members can fix the problem so can Ford. FP is not telling us what is really going on. If a trans fix was coming they would have had it out already. It's time to make some noise.

I don't think ford is going to fix anyone's car. It has been pointed out that too few people are affected by this issue. At best, and the jury is out, you may get a ford sanctioned kit that will enable some track activity. That's all I'm looking for but a fix that will prevent limp mode to the level of a track/RCalling ford performance in masses of 15 probably isn't going to help your cause. But I don't think it's gonna impede it

Here are a few thoughts and suggestions.

If you are able to get your car to go limp on the road, document it and pursue a lemon law angle. Doubtful a reduced performance mode that still keeps the vehicle at a legal speed would qualify, imho

If your car is not going limp on the streets, why not sell your tech car and move up to a car that was designed for more extensive track use? My tech is essentially the same car as a track and even an 'R'. It is not a throw away car. Also, I don't want to play the reduced value trade in game nor do I want to pay at least MSRP on a new one.

Don't get angry at me :ninja:, but some of you guys are getting really upset. Not angry w you, this is one of the more thoughtful posts from a track owner. Yes, I'm upset at the fact Ford would sell the Tech or Base without all coolers only to correct it in the next MY and not address it directly.

What it may cost to add coolers to your car just might be the price difference in a '17 give or take. Base owners would get screwed on the cost of the now standard magnaride suspension I am seeing MSRP deals or very close to it on the forum from time to time. Just don't want to pay againJudging by the turnout for the boycott or mass call in, there are only about 15 of you. I think many more are out there, just not on this forumI've probably seen about as many MSRP leads go by in the past.

Others have done exactly that. Mattlqx traded his tech in for a '17 and he made out pretty well. That's great for Matt- I don't want to pay again, I have the car I want, Ford just wouldn't put coolers on itIf extended track time is that important, you may want to consider Its not about track time. Limp mode happens on the streets. When at the track , a Shelby should outperform lesser model mustangs. Limp mode should never happen on a Shelby, disrespects the name and reputation...it.
Hey Tom, Thanks for the post. Hope you're ok w me marking it up like I did, thought I could use it to clarify my thoughts on the situation.

I really have to agree with you on this, but I may be wrong, I hope so for a lot of guys that want to track there cars. John

Be prepared for ford to tell you the same thing that Chevy is telling z07 owners. The 2017 has improved cooling. You can purchase the new model.

No worries Tank. I really do hope you guys find a solution. Hack's concerns are valid. If a bunch of guys call FP and and start making threats and demands, you will be closing another door. I understand everyone's frustration, but you need friends and not enemies.

Keep in mind that Ford is a large corporation. Things happen slow. Also keep in mind that anything Ford puts out is subject to liability. I don't think that they can just whip out a kit without extensive testing. Case in point, Joe (itlrun - the guy whos car burst into flames), a sensor or fitting came loose and engulfed his car in fire and almost killed him. Ford would be foolish to hastily crank out a cooler kit without extensive testing. And maybe for that reason, you may never see a sanctioned kit -- who knows? I am certain FP would welcome owners calling in who's bearing remains professional yet concerned. You all have issues and I believe Ford should address them with an answer one way or the other.

I would explore all options. A letter writing campaign to key executives would be a good start. Make them real letters, not the stuff that lands in somebody's spam folder that is easily ignored. Target key people at ford who are the decision makers.

A while back I stuck my nose into a thread that dealt with this very subject that wound up turning into WW III. I do believe there was a bunch of ranting with one individual threatening legal action and putting ford on notice. Although I am sympathetic to your cause, I didn't appreciate the way that person went about it and I spoke my mind. My position was and is now that there were different tiers of cars due to price point. Maybe it was an engineering snafu, but I believe it was to keep the cost down for each perceived demographic who would be interested in each type of car. I do not wish to debate disclosure or purchasing decisions at this point.

In this thread, I saw the same thing happen all over again. People who were frustrated and others who were tired of hearing it. Both groups spoke up and it went beyond healthy debate. Infighting here really solves nothing. My point is that if anybody here is going to make any headway in getting some kind of sanctioned fix, it will not be with threats of lawsuits or boycotts.

I support your cause, but realize that what you do from here on out could either positively or negatively affect your outcome. Tank, feel free to interject your thoughts into mine as you see fit. I do not wish to debate, but thought I would throw my thoughts in before a flash mob attacked Ford Performance.
