NEW SYNC 3.0 Build 20204 Nav Android Auto/Apple Carplay

There was a document that circulated that indicated one port is a 1.0a and one is a 2.1a, i.e. "high power", I don't know that anyone ever determined which was which (and if there was in fact, a higher output port).

I have a tester, er, I did have, a buddy has had it forever, and I've just never tracked it down.

Then my experience would indicate the front one was the high power since I could use the drive in question in the front but if I plugged it into the arm rest USB, the car complained about the device needing too much power. Interested in seeing if your tester confirms. But I still can't understand if the front port is just daisy-chained from the arm-rest how the end of the chain (front) provides MORE power than than the first in the chain (arm-rest)

yes yes, its a diag screen mostly for techs but some people discovered it and shared it on f150 forums

I went to this but didnt dive too deep and did not see any themes (yet). Just hold it down past the speaker tests. I did see that it says my car is an auto with FWD and no heated seats. My car is none of those.

Sounds like your car and you need to sit down and have a little chat. Perhaps its having an identity crisis?

Apparently your car identifies as being a base mode fiesta with a slush box.

One of the members of the club I'm in is out in Las Vegas at the Ford Developer Conference. He specifically asked about carplay and android auto for 2016s. Here is what he was told:

-USB hub for Apple Carplay will be $200 at the dealership
-Like we all know Android Auto is just a software update
-No official release date, but the "word on the floor" is November

Take this with a grain of salt but he got the info from the Sync Program Director.

This is accurate... the USB ports are EXPENSIVE.. I have been buying them.. I just wasn't sure if Ford was going to offer a discount for owners of 16s or not.. I had heard they were..

Heh, the only thing i can think of is it was reset by the main menu and a battery pull as my backup camera lines went mia after a trip to the service center and i attempted to get them back.

The question is: Will Ford release the update without the USB hub installed, or will it have to be a package deal. Not sure I want to spend any money, I just want the firmware. I don't have apple, never will.
