As Krt22 mentioned, the hardware was not properly installed if they are backing out or! the nut plate is stripped. Either way it is due to improper install. I have 4k highway miles avg 80mph miles on mine tracked twice and hardware is all in tact and tight to spec
The difference is his splitter has additional downforce on it.

@OP, have you hit the splitter anywhere? Even small scrapes on the bottom screws can potentially loosen them

The splitter's look cool but seem like nothing but a hassle to me. Always ripping off.

No. The midsection of the chin spoiler has been treated with kid gloves and when I took it in today to be examined by the Ford serviceman, he immediately noted that the center screw had disappeared.

The center section wasn't installed properly but this weekend, the splitter just decided to give up the ghost. Someone has already eluded that they have to recurrently tighten the screws... And this is not the first time I've heard it.

There has to be a way to secure it more safely...

A $2k part secured by less than $5 hardware... Ok.

If the screws are backing out its possibly an issue with the u clips. Those should hold pretty secure since its metal on metal with the screw. I didn't notice any loose screws when messing with my R splitter yesterday. Have they/you pulled the clips to examine them?

They will look at everything next week when the screws arrive for replacement.

FWIW, there are 8 blots that secure the center section at the front center of the car. It would take more that one loose to cause a problem. I have seen multiple issues where four of the eight were left out because the installer was "lazy". It is a know fact that the splitter will create enough downforce to rip itself off with only four bolts holding it.

I agree with you. The downforce on these R chin spoilers is very effective downforce and should be treated as such. I just have a hard time understanding the coarse thread screws and u nuts.

Anyways, I'll be good as stock next week.

Mine came loose and I had to go to the dealer to fix it. I think the original dealer didn't get it on correctly. It was cold and snowy when the initial installation was done, so I'm sure it was difficult to install when the plastic was so stiff.

I think many of the mechanics are reluctant to use sufficient force to properly lock the tabs into the slots.

At street speeds it will be pretty negligible and even then should be well within the safety factor of the fasteners if they were properly torqued.

My car frequently sees 80+ mph sprints.

This happened to me. Not a big deal. Put 4 screws back in and monitor. I have a hard time believing they fell out. Probably the dealer didn't put them in during install. Maybe a dab of thread lock or something will help if you are sure they were there to begin with.

Well, the spoiler was pretty secure the week I got it because I remember tugging on it pretty good given the threads on here regarding spoiler failures.

Yes, that doesn't mean they were all inserted, but what I do know now is that they're not there... And a dealer installed it so it's a Ford issue.

looking for part numbers for splitter parts. The part numbers in video do not work on ford parts site. screws bolts, and "nuts". I am thinking about buying a spare splitter. I hit driving in and out and the metal taps will be gone soon.

Isn't there a torque spec...I gave a non R and my splitter was torn completely off while driving down the highway after I left the dealership after purchasing her. I almost had a heart attack, the ensuing panic attack restarted my heart.
