It is set to 7500rpm. You going to love it. My lund tune is set to 7850 and still wants to pull even more.
:headbang:

To be honest, I'll wind up going with a 3rd party tune, just because I'm confident this motor won't have any issues, and I'm OK with the risk vs. return ratio.

I'll probably wind up with incremental changes, parts like headers, all that will need additional tuning too.

That being said, I _totally_ understand the desire to have factory warranty coverage (or some variant), and have a simple, turnkey solution from a single source (that also happens to be the car manufacturer).

I think it would be pretty fantastic for PP cars with the 3:73s, my car winds up so quick through the first few gears it would be _outstanding_ to have another 750+ RPMs up top (I'm assuming the Stage 3 bumps the redline/fuelcut up)

I have a non-PP car with 3.31 gears, and it would still be nice to defer shifts just a bit longer. The Coyote loves her revs, it seems.

Impressive, but warranty and emissions aside, a centri would be a much better investment yielding far more horsepower per dollar spent. A Paxton or Procharger for between $5-6000 and you're at 700hp+.
Not really a fair comparison as the install difficulty is quite different.

And the supercharged engine will overheat on the 3rd lap of a road course, after which it is just expensive dead weight.

Looking forward to see what the aftermarket can do now that they have a firm target for a manifold swap. Wasn't Edelbrock supposed to be working on a s550 manifold package? Plus this is a 2nd time someone has figured out how to adjust the gear ratios, not sure why no one but Whipple and Ford can do this despite all the different tuning options out there.

And as others have noted, pretty much proves the engine is safe to 7500 rpm with no mechanical changes.

Yeah, that's very true, the shorter gears may wind up a little quicker, but ultimately we're still headed towards to the same - slightly too low - redline.

So my understanding is the peak power gain is actually 37 hp, but compared to stock intake manifold and cai the hp at 7500 rpm will be 60 more, this doesn't mean the stock intake manifold and cai was pushing 435 hp at 7500 rpm. On a stock car the hp drops pretty bad after 6500 rpm.

Untrue. There are numerous people doing road course with centris.

350 Manny is $1000 plus you don't even need the 350 tb stock gt tb Is more than enough. Btw, you can buy the 350 tb for $120.

My car runs like a champion.
My setup is, 350 Manny, stock tb with blowfish adaptor, JLT Intake, corsa extreme, 47lbs frpp injectors, lund tune x4
Did you notice any change in low end torque with your set up? Have you dynoed it or ran it at the track?

Of course. But the real power comes up top. Going from 2nd to 3rd I spin the tires with traction on not just a little spin but the car wants to go sideways. That is with my 305 mpss.
No track yet. I will dyno it within next week or so.

The 60hp spike is coming on at 6500rpm+. It's not really usable for most street drivers.
Your car doesnt see 6500+ every day?

PP3 with stock injectors , isnt that just a smack in the face to a certain tooner
I was told by Lund that even with e85 and gt350 manifold injectors are not really needed.

Ford needs to add the 495hp kit as a upgrade to the GT.. A package like the Performance Package but call it the Performance Package Tech 3 or something like that.. If they build it, it will sell!! Maybe make another Bullitt. Or make it the Mach 1 package.

Guys the title is missleading. Its not 495 hp, its 472 hp. The peak power gain is only 37 hp, the 60 hp gain is at 7500 rpm but the car at that rpm normally puts down even below 350 whp.

Yes and no.
If you read the article in the link at the beginning of this thread a Ford rep said stage 3 is between 475 and 495 hp: "Ford spokesperson Matt Leaver told us via email, but when it comes to the top-tier Power Pack 3, horsepower figures between 475 and 495 ponies would be "a reasonable number at the flywheel."

Why is this different from the official values? There are several possible reasons:

The Ford rep was not aware that official numbers had been released.
The stage 3 tune has not been finalized, so the 37 hp figure is preliminary.
Ford is just being conservative with the official number to account for car to car variation.
Ford's marketing does not want the quoted power output of stage 3 to be too high, because some upcoming mustang variant has a power output in a similar range.
Etc.

Its anyone's guess. We really don't know how any of these tunes compare with the aftermarket ones, and won't know until they have been tested.
