Help!! VMB9's major tire poke

Bought a set of Velgen VMB9's off a buddy. Rears are 20x10.5 wrapped in 305/35s. He has a PP GT just like my car. When I mounted the rears on mine, I've got some pretty major poke on both sides. The wheels are the standard offset +45 mm. These didn't do this on his car, they tucked nicely. I had Forgestar F14s on the car previously in a 20x11 +55 that sat almost dead flush. These are the only fitment for VMB9s on our cars, what could be causing this? Could alignment cause this big of an issue? I'm at a loss here.. :shrug:

Get Steeda centering pins and have your camber adjusted. Obviously if you have wheels spacers take those off.

My tsw fit last week have a little less than that. I am hoping a bit of negative camber can sort it out....

No spacers. I'm hoping a little negative camber can fix it, but it just seems so far off right now. They literally sat perfect on his car, and we have the same car.

My Velgen vmb9s will be here this week. I've done my research and I also went with the 305/30 tire in the rear. It will only poke out 19.1 mm more then stock. I currently have the ecoboost performance package wheels with 25mm spacers all around. My current setup is more aggressive as far as poke then the velgens will be and I still don't have any major tire poke like your having. Not sure whats wrong here

yeah, sorry, that looks absolutely awful. camber is only going to help so much, youd need well over -2 degrees id say........

I'd pay the 40 bucks for the steeda subframe alignment kit and see if that helps. Supposedly the subframe can be misaligned up to a 1/2 inch from factory, which looks to be about how much poke you have.

both sides appear to have a decent amount of poke, while it is more on the drivers side, obviously, there will be some give and take once adjusted, he's still going to have a great deal of goofy looking poke

Yeah it looks like your subframe is misaligned. Fix that before you go messing with the wheels.

Does this misalignment contribute to the poke or is it purely a left to right issue? I am looking at a very similar issue with tsw wheels which they assure me should fit

Can your subframe be misaligned even with the BMR Lockout kit? My driver side seems to poke a little more than my passanger side.

If you get the BMR CB005 Cradle Lockout Kit it does the same as the Steeda sub frame alignment kit and stops the hop as well. I got mine from Beefcake for $150 I also have the Steeda subframe alignment kit BNIB and will not be installing it.

I'll bet your buddy's car is lowered and has a couple degrees of negative camber... You can add negative camber easily, but you'll sacrifice some traction and the tires will wear faster.

Camber doesn't equal excessive tire wear.
