does anyone seem to think our hoods tend to flex a tiny bit up and down while driving at higher speeds? Maybe the contours and reflections of the hood are giving me a false perception of this but ive never noticed it on any previous cars and it definitely seems to to happen on the stang. it literally seems like the negative/positive air pressures that happen over the hood make it work slightly. I am just curious if anyone else notices this?
It doesn't happen to mine, but this is not the first time I've heard of it. It usually happens at much higher speeds though.

Does adjusting the bumpers up really work?

The rubber bumper. I assume so, it makes it so that the wind surfs above the hood and prevent wind getting below the hood.

If you think it flexes at 60mph... Wait till you see a stiff cross breeze at 110 ;)

I've noticed this on pretty much every car I've owned, especially on my 96 Subaru Legacy GT and my 00 Z28. Both had lightweight fiberglass hoods on them and looked like they damn near wanted to take flight. My former daily, 2008 accord, had the same issue and it's hood had some decent weight. Surprisingly, my 99GT with it's hood doesn't flex...

Short answer for the flexing, "because racecar."

Sarky - sarcastic
knickers - knickers in a twist - when one gets upset or crazy over something most people think is unimportant

:D

One thing I really love about the US the English accent seems to go down very well with the Ladies
Mind you the 1st time I visited, I was asked if i come from "Benny Hill" country

hahahaha

Posted in the other thread but ill post here too. My coworker saw a S550 Mustang's hood fly off a few weeks ago at high speeds. We had a tropical storm coming through and there were high winds.

She said the guy drove past her doing at least 90 or 100 and as he got to an overpass the hood flew off with a heavy gust of wind and the high speed of travel.

My hood flexes quite a bit so im personally always paying attention to it when im going fast or its windy out.

We have a similar word "snarky" which also means sarcastic, but has a caustic and condicending connotation. We have not had knickers for a century

Yes, a British accent works well here. Think how well it will work when the United Kingdom is just England is Wales - you will suddenly be rare and exotic:D

I was in the Royal Palace of Justice in London about 15 years ago over the 4th of July and Mr. Justice Davies asked all us Americans to rise and then told us you (the UK) did not want us anyway and e should sit down. He was being ironic and funny. But we appreciated his acknowledging our working on a holiday. Not sure he would have been so kind if he had been forced to watch the new Top Gear at the time:headbonk:

Have a good 4th!

For all of those sponsors out there - a hood pin kit for the S550 - smells like opportunity!

Of course. The movement you see is caused by the hood going up and down. By adjusting the bumpers, it stops the hood from going down so the hood is locked in.
