Great thread. I'm subscribed. I take delivery of my 2016 Tech at the end of September. I will be driving it over 1300 miles home (highway). I hope I'm one of the lucky ones. I'll do a complete write up. Forums tend to be a lot of negative (people rarely take the time to post positive results), but I fear this issue is REAL, and it's only a matter of time.

I have bad luck, as I went round and round with BMW NA when I bought a 135i. It had a high pressure fuel pump issue. BMW responded poorly, and just extended the warranties, and then in 2012, re-designed the motor.

I hope FORD does better.

It will be interesting to see how Ford responds. GM did NOT respond to the LS7 dropped valve fiasco and part of the reason why I didn't get back into a Vette. Dodge did response to the oil consumption issues with the V10 in the early Gen5's with several motors being replaced under warranty. Interesting to see how this pans out.

WOW! . . . It is amazing how the tone of this thread changes the moment Deysha shows up. And this thread started from speculation by someone that doesn't even have a GT350 yet. I recognize that there is a problem, but it seems we are attempting to make this more serious than it is only to put pressure on Ford for a quick fix. Those who have experienced limp mode on the street, I feel there are other issues going on other than the transmission overheating. I am waiting to experience this phenomenon myself, only to understand it better.

you will be fine in September, in my opinion. I have talked to a lot of the effected folks and I don't recall any in cool temps outside of track use.

and I drive rather spirited, in the hot, humid Austin weather. I dont think that it has been under 90 and not humid for almost a month...and I have not experienced any cooling issues what so ever. Air conditioning always blasting too.

Understood, but I might suggest yours and others opinions might be a bit different if you were on the other side of the equation. A matter of perspective perhaps. I know I and some of the others may not be normal. Longer runs in heat are very common for me, that's my normal usage pattern. Long commutes etc. Some of the guys with issues have become more silent lately which leaves me to believe they have went another way. I don't want to abandon the car, or brand, but also feel respect is a two way street and Ford hopefully will act in good faith and use the full power of their expertise and organization to be sure early adopters of their Halo car are taken care of.

What does it take to be serious? 3%, 6%, 10% of non cooler cars? I know the folks that have hit Limp mode are likely statistically few but temps are going to be going up for the next 2 months and people will be doing more road trips. Is it acceptable that the cars may run 60-80 degrees hotter without the cooler yet have the same effective fluid service interval? A bit of candor and consistency on Fords part would do wonders.

I guess I don't understand your post. Are you saying being "ahead of the game" is an invalid action. Should I wait for my car to hit limp mode on the HWY/Street and then react to a known issue? Please help me understand. This reply is not a knock against you, I am just trying to understand your statement.

BTW, I hope I don't get to the point of LM and this is also the first Ford I have EVER BOUGHT and I am buying because of the model and not the manufacturer. I hope all goes well or this will just turn me off to Ford and my marketing via word of mouth

This is great to know, maybe since I have the same color as you, I will not get to that point too. :clap2:
Also, how many miles to you drive the car a day and how many times a week? I and I'm sure others would like to see this type of data.

I haven't hit limp mode, and I hope I never do. I bought this car to replace my C6z06, and drive it to work or wherever. I don't plan on ever tracking it, so that's why I didn't buy the track version. I hope ford releases a cooler add on and does it for free or really cheap.

I will tell you this ..I would absolutely not buy a 16 tech car..I was having problems the first week I owned it..I have had a problem almost every time its been driven more then 30 minutes..and in response to gt Dave's statement..I have been dealing with this with ford for several weeks now..

I've hit limp mode, I plan on going to the dealer soon to get it on record. I'm not pushy for free or anything, but I definitely do want a fix to come sooner than later. My last track day will be in october. It would be nice if I could Give the vettes a run for their money for more than 3-4 laps.

I would have signed up for another track day this summer, but I'd really prefer to have the coolers on the car first. The limp mode just hits way too quickly. At this point I'm just trying to be patient.

I'm not asking to not hit limp mode on the track. I'm just asking not to hit it off the track. This really shouldn't be an issue. Does removing the cats help keep tranny temps down? Will it need a tune if you do? That'll void your warranty
