Upgrade Non PP?

I traded in my no pp ecoboost for a pp one. I have taken off all the suspension and replaced it with steeda. Would I do it agian with a gt- I would love to but you can't get the pp gt in a auto and I don't want to swap the tranny like a member has done on the website. Yes to me it's good to start with a pp car cause you get a couple extras that help the looks and feel of the car.

i got a base gt manual trans, with 3:55 gears in the rear... only because i mod and do my own stuff to may cars,always have . ill do the suspension upgrades ,and ill use the 18 inch a/s for a winter set, and get rims i want for summer,
guess my point if your going to mod it or do stuff to it ,to make it your own id do a base..best bang for the buck .. i got mine for 31 otd.. deff aint getting a pp for that

All depends on where you want to start, go to and end up. My car is a daily driver, I thought the ride on the pp was a bit harsh, but also thought the ride on the non pp was a bit soft, so I went non pp with the idea I could do a few suspension mods (strut tower and cowl braces, k member, irs subframe, for starters) to sharpen and stiffen it up just a tad to get it to my liking. I also plan on getting 19s of my choice for summer tires while using the stock 18s as winter wheels.

Get a GT/CS and add the Brembo brakes.

If you would like to upgrade to some parts included in pp(brembos and such), just get the pp. If you wanna get a nice handling car, get a base gt and get the eibach handling package for 700 bucks.

IMO brembos are not a necessity and the wheels in pp is not that appealing either. However if you like brembos , get the pp. If you would like to lower the car and purchase some wheels, just get a base model

I could not get the PP because I wanted the auto trans and the CS gave me part of it, but I did install the Brembos and while they may not be needed, they do make more of a difference than I thought.

Yeah they do make quite a difference . Not a deal breaker for me tho

Can someone chime in on what the top MPH for each gear is for the following:
Auto with 3.15
Auto with 3.55
Manual with 3.73s.

I know the manual with 3.73s ends second around 60 which seems way too short, I don't want to be in 3rd gear if I'm just trying to do a 0.60 pull.

The GT350 gets to around 50 in first, and 80 in second which is ideal.
I wonder if you can swap a tremec into a GT without much trouble.

This chart is theoretical. I capped it at 180, which is ambitious, and it doesn't indicate how long it will take any of these cars to reach a certain speed. RPM is assumed 6500 for all data points.

Finally found a PP car to test drive. Timing wise it ended up at rush hour in a congested area, so while coming up short in testing the car's capabilities, it was a decent daily driver test. Certainly enjoyed it and my fears of it being "too much" for daily driving use were erased. But I did feel it would probably be overkill for my uses (short commutes and long highway drives comprise the bulk of my driving). The Brembos were, amazing - felt like I didn't even need the full weight of my foot to stop the car normally. I hope the airbag deploys if you panic stop!!

So if I were to buy today, I would probably go base and look to get maybe the Ford Performance track pack if I ended up disappointed on the rare occasion I spent time on a twisty road. I get that the PP is a great value and all, but maintaining its expensive additions (tires, brakes, MPG) seems foolish when I'll be mostly wasting them on short commutes and long highway runs.

That said, I'm not buying today. Leaning towards building up the coffers a bit more before pulling the trigger, so we'll see! And the days are getting shorter too, so might as well see what '18 has to offer.
