Got a response back from Rob Simons, VP of R&D at Edelbrock.

Diagonal strut tower supports do not have to be removed to install this supercharger, but horizontal strut tower brace does need to be removed and they have no plans to manufacture one to fit. I may employ a local custom shop to fabricate one if there's any room behind the "dimple" in the roof of the supercharger.

Stage 1 is at 691HP and Stage 2 is coming out soon with larger intake, larger throttle body and will go to 731HP.

Crate motor (Aluminator SC) featuring their supercharger is coming out later this year with and without tuner.

Will order as soon as their CARB E.O. letter is issued.

I'm sure it will be a great S/C, but the problem is Whipple hardware, software and support is so good that makes hard to look at anything else. Whipple has been very focused on this model for S550. They know the motor, they know the tune and the result show.

1) Edelbrock has been around 75 years - they are not going away.

2) I live in Escondido, CA, just down the freeway from their offices in Torrance. If I have a problem, it's a short drive.

3) The unit itself has the least amount of installation modifications of any of the units out there (and I've looked at the installation instructions).

4) Edelbrock manufactures the OEM supercharger for the Dodge Hellcats.

5) The unit appears stock from the factory and is low profile. I may be able to have a custom-fabricated strut tower brace where that won't work with Whipple, Roush, VMR, Magnuson, or any of the other models.

6) I am not looking to drag race it - just spirited driving and an occasional road race track day.

7) I don't have to worry about a jackshaft breaking or binding up.

8) I don't have to upgrade the throttle body or exhaust if I don't want to.

9) Edelbrock is not nickel and diming me for endless extras that I don't want or need.

Different strokes for different folks. If you like Whipple, Roush or another unit, fine, go for it. Not my cup of tea, sorry.

Never been a fan of the flat boring style superchargers that GM and Dodge use on there blown cars. To plain for me. I know they make decent power but if I'm spending 7k on something I want people to be like "Damn" when I pop my hood.

I'm more of a "Run silent, run deep" kind of guy. Under the radar. Less likely to get your car broken into or stolen.

I'm interested in how this kit performs. The previous versions had heat soak issues hopefully they got rid of those with their new heat exchanger.
