I ordered a 2017 GT a few weeks ago and was told by the dealer that if he ordered it for his lot, I'd see it sooner than if he ordered it directly for me. Any truth to that? The bummer of course is I can't use the Cotus site. I have a vin# but can't seem to get the window sticker either. 1FA6P8CF4H5214353 here it is if anyone know a better way. Also wondering if anyone ordered one around May 20th and knows when there car will be built or delivered yet? probably too early.
thanks,
Austin

Not sure why you reposted this question but yes, at the very start of a model year, dealer orders are processed first so they get the headaches of the inevitable start up glitches and have time to take care of them.

It depends on the priority the dealer puts your order in. If they put it in with a really low priority (like 19), and they order their dealer inventory cars with a higher priority, then yes, the dealer ordered cars will probably get in first. Unfortunately, most dealers make this an enigma, they don't tell you what priority they put your car into the system as, etc.

Some dealers try to wheel and deal with other dealers to get your custom order off another car lot (or a car really close to it).

I ordered my last car. There's nothing like seeing your car on the dealer lot for the first time, with the words "CUSTOM ORDER" on the window sticker :ford: It was the first vehicle I've ever custom ordered...

Public access to window stickers does not work anymore. Those links will stop working for cars produced after a certain date in May 2016.

Untrue people have used this site recently have gotten theirs.
I'm certainly not going to argue with you, but Deysha at Ford Service has expressly said otherwise.

Also, the public access to those links was discontinued a few months ago. The only way you can get a copy is after you purchase the vehicle from this site. Have a nice day!

I'm inclined to believe Deysha, I can't even get my 2012 Explorer's sticker to pull up via that site.

I can get the options information for the Explorer to pull up on this site:

https://beaverdamautos.com/

So I'm more hopeful I'll be able to get my Mustang's info once it's close enough to the build date.

Hello Austind,

Welcome and congrats on your order! My name is Deysha with Ford Service and you are welcomed to PM me with your VIN for updates. At this time, it shows it has scheduled and received a VIN, but it has not received a build date yet.

Thank you for the support, guys. Yes, public access was discontinued. I am not sure how it still works for some orders, but it was in fact discontinued.

Deysha
