I just got my car recently from Carmax and sadly they had already drilled holes in the front for the license plate. I wanted to ask if there are any better options for covering the holes other than bumperplugs??? it seems like that's my best option. Thanks for all replies.

A body shop could fill in the holes for you, but it would be more costly than plugs. I had it done on my SRT8 for about $350.

A less popular, but acceptable option, is get some cool vanity plates. The new black legacy ones ;)

I'd say bumper plugs are your best option. I'm completely satisfied with mine:

Thanks for these pics. I just ordered a set of bumperplugs for my DIB yesterday and I was worried about how they would look as I hadn't seen very many detailed photos. Your pictures have set my mind at ease.

Canadian Cars come from the factory with a really nice license plate holder so it doesn't look as crude as a license plate simply screwed to the front bumper.

Can that part possibly be purchased through Ford?

Wow never knew that, like this you mean?
explains why it was on there, I thought the dealer in Canada had done it
So why are Canadian cars different to the US cars?

I was quoted $350 to fill the holes on mine. I was planning on having it done, but I think I've chnaged my mind the more I've thought about them removing the bumper to do it and the potential for the paint to not match exactly. I thought the plate would bother me more, but I threw a Ford Racing plate on it and i don't really dwell on it. May consider the bumper plugs, though.

Front license plate is mandatory in Texas. It's is part of the pdi process. However I got lucky and got one without the frame on the front.

They're not. I got the same plate holder it was just not installed. The dealership gave me the option of drilling the holes or not. I chose not to but the holder came with the car so they left it in the trunk.

So its not a factory thing than? If my car was not black, I would not have been happy, but as its all black dont look to bad, and might stop me catching the front bumper

It's mandatory here in Minnesota as well, BUT, It's up to the end purchaser to place it where they want. Front center or to the side or what if you bought it as a collector? IE:Shelby GT?
My Salesman was mad as hell when we saw they put holes in the fascia to install the plate. He said they had a prep guy do it to a Shelby the year before  So he was surprised it happened again. Dealer had NO issue with replacing it.:headbang:

I had the same problem. Used Bumperplugs, little expensive could do it cheaper. But they look good. Id recommend bumper plugs. Dont waste money filling them now. Wait until you get the bumper repainted or replaced, idk how long you plan on keeping the car.
