I am not sure I understand. Are you asking me a question, or attempting to get Mcars to answer it?
Yeah ive been waiting for him to answer it. As one of the "horrible, dirty, slimy greedy" dealer employees I would love for him to purchase all of his future vehicles at MSRP. I would also like to SUGGEST a few things that I'm sure this site doesn't allow me to say, because like mSrp, he clearly likes to live off of others suggestions.

Yawn...

I started this thread over a year ago, and even I'm getting bored with this nonsense! :frusty:
Then don't read it. Seems simple enough.

Sorry not following you here. MSRP as it stands is already inflated. The invoice price of my M5 for example is 9% of MSRP. That doesnt include the 5% AVP bonus dealers get over the MSRP, or the other "back" deals they have with manufacturer over service charges.

I got a 121k car for less than 100k. Brand new with 7 miles, it was off the boat from Germany a week before I signed. It wasnt even sitting in the lot. Yet the dealer STILL made money. Ford is the same. Chevy is the same. Z06 has what 10-15k discounts now? Yes Chevy still makes money. Everyone still eats. The dealers with Rs is just being greedy, period.

I have yet to see a vehicle that has roughly 330 produced over 2 model years mentioned by you. Hell, if dealers are sold out of the M5 or Z06, you simply order another, they will build it.

The GT350R isn't in that category. You have proven that the number put on the sticker is just a suggestion. It can go either way. This theory isn't limited to cars either. Same holds true for houses.

All that to say, I find it odd how you are so quick to say that under MSRP is fine because the manufacturer still makes money but refuse to acknowledge that this particular model of ford is worth more than the manufacturer suggested. Do you not believe in a free economy? Are you a fan of price fixing?

No you didn't. You bought a car that, on the day you purchased, was worth less than $100K. How is something this simple so hard for you to follow?

Who cares?

If a dealer wants to charge 20k ADM who gives a shit? Its a free market. If I go to a ball game and pay $8.00 for a hot dog that cost .20 cents... who cares. Either I CHOOSE to buy it or not. Nobody is forcing me to buy an over inflated price on anything.

This ADM post is making me

My 2 pennies

I really think the issue comes down to human behavior and psychology. I'd guess that most that are upset about ADM's are stretching their finances to purchase this car. The ones paying ADM, probably are not. Perhaps it's not everyone as some have financial rules they stick by, but my opinion is that most are like this.

1) A vehicle is a depreciating asset, not an investment. Don't get the two confused.

2) Our economy is based on supply and demand. It's a cornerstone of what makes capitalism so great. If the dealers are terrible for adding ADM's, so are the people asking for discounts below MSRP. You can't have it both ways.

3) While on average recessions come every 7 years. NO ONE can predict when the next one begins. There always will be another recession, but to say it happens NOW or next month is ludicrous. It could easily be another 2-3 years.

4) Every recession is not the great depression or great recession of 2008. Recency bias skews our belief. The next dip could be very mild.

5) For many, (me included), this vehicle is not just another car. It's special. It get's me excited and will give me life experiences I'll remember. One being going to the track, and secondly having the opportunity to work on it with my 7 year old son the way my father did with me. These experiences are worth more to me than any ADM. I tend to be shrewd with most investments and how I spend my money, because I believe that is a good way to grow one's wealth. But with certain experiences, vacations, travel with family, sporting events, dinners and this car I won't be. Doesn't make me stupid, it just makes me happy.

**full disclosure**
I ordered a 2017 out of state with a 3k ADM, and probably another 2k in shipping costs.
I ran Gainpoint Capital, a long short hedge fund, from 2011 - 2016

What does my M5 have to do with what I said?

I understand most of you paid ADMs already and my line of thinking may sound upsetting, but no need to attack me personally. Attack my line of thinking and have an intellectual argument instead of childish one.
I did not pay ADM. just sick of hearing about your hard on for bmw. Hands down the worst car I've ever owned. Get over yourself.

Which dealer you work for again? Tell me so I can pass your feedback to BMWNA. They'd love to hear what their own employee thinks of their product and how he badmouths it in open public.

Really? Now you are making threats to people on an online forum and want to turn them into BMW Corporate??? The same forum you insult people's intelligence on? Hell, the very same thread. You really should stop.

I am not making any threats. Its unethical for a person to work for a company where the same individual is badmouthing the very product that helps that company pays his salary to put food on his table. Thats wrong.

It was him and you and others who need STOP the personal attacks. You all paid ADMs, my post did not go well with you and you are all upset because deep inside part of you agrees with what I am saying. There is nothing else to say here. Stop the personal insults and focus on my post and the point I am trying to make rather than what car I drive, why I drive it, and how BMWs as cars suck. I never insulted Ford or Mustang or individuals here. I may have defended myself to others but the initial punch did not come from me.

To address the first part. If he did work for BMW and felt they made an inferior product, you think it is unethical to state as much? You are basically saying it isn't ok to have integrity. To be very frank, if you work for a company and can't criticize the company's shortcomings, then you need to find a new job. It is not unethical. And read what you posted. YOU ABSOLUTELY MADE A THREAT TO "CALL BMWNA AND TELL ON HIM"!!!

Now, on to the 2nd part. Please find one of my posts where I insulted/attacked you. As a matter of fact, I specifically asked you a few questions to start an "intelligent argument" which is precisely what you asked for. I could give a damn what you drive as it has no bearing on me.

You still have not made a single accurate point regarding the value of the GT350R and backed them up with facts.
You still have not directly addressed my question about MSRP.
You refuse to have an intelligent argument with me and have just went back to namecalling.
Was it not you that called people illiterate?
Did you not call dealers Greedy, unethical and pathetic?
Did you not tell them to go f$*& themselves?

I have done exactly what you asked. Focused on your points and countered them, to which you have ignored. I absolutely paid ADM. Same ADM you said you were fine with(which you seem to have course corrected on). I am happy to have paid the level of ADM I did.

In all of your rambling about the economy, greed and whatever else you have tried to tie to this car, you have been making statements that are outright false. Ford did not design this car for everyone. They are making less than 1000 in a 3 year run. That sounds like it is made for a select few, IMO. Again, go back and find a single insult or attack from me. When you reread my posts looking for them, how about following your own advice and engaging in an intelligent discussion.

If you don't feel like having an intelligent discussion about the GT350R, while posting on a GT350R forum, well:
