Leather wearing out

Even though I back into the seat with a semi-sitting posture, I think I still rub the bolster very lightly. But the T-shirt is preventing any wear to it.

The main reason I want to also cover the cushion is to prevent long term dirt build. Should also prevent long term wear, too.

Don't get me wrong... but that kinda defeats the point of having leather seats doesn't it? Covering it up.... You might as well have cloth seats if you are going to put a TShirt over it. Would have saved you the extra expense of paying for leather....

Oh yes, I totally get that. I pull the T-shirts off, and throw the carpeted mats on top of the WeatherTech's for "date night", i.e. a little more luxury for the lady.

I don't sweat that much, but I get back into my car after playing tennis for a couple hours, so they help with that too.

I found the Premier Trim seat to be the most comfortable of them all, and that aspect remains even with the T-shirt on it.

Not always the option. I for one can care less for leather but it is going to be tough finding a GT PP with the 400A package and cloth seats. I put a black sleeveless Under Armour type of shirt on mine. It doesn't bother me one bit and you can barely notice it on.

I recommend XL.

I actually cut my shirts open from under the arm hole to the lower hem, and then re-sewed it there. A designed-in weakpoint, should the airbag deploy.

Looks like I have an appointment set for Monday at Caruso Ford Long Beach. They are going to take pictures and send them to Ford just like another member in this thread had done. Hopefully I have the same outcome and get a replacement seat. Fingers crossed.

It's hard not to slide against that spot getting in & out, especially if you're tall (me) and/or a chunky monkey (me again).

I have the same problems, and dimensions :frusty:

And I know it's me - I have the same issue on the same spot on two other cars!

Guess I should have ordered the 401a pkg. I really did want the seat/mirror memory & like the feature that moves the seat all the way back when you open the door. I have this on all my other cars & is probably why this is not an issue there. Just couldn't bring myself to part with $1700 for a bundle of features I really didn't want (BLISS & the Shaker upgrade).

You should be OK in your new Vert since you ordered the 401a.

I have same problem with car, has 1800 miles on it and showing wear on bolster. My car has 401a package and I am super careful getting in and out.

I was looking @ my seats today & noticed the sides that face the center console are CLOTH - Geezzzzz .......................

Clearly the bolsters are vinyl, the only leather on these seats is the center inserts (where you sit & where your back touches).

Ah, no worries, didn't see your first post saying it's in the exact same spot. I have some wear on the actual seat (bottom, most near to the door). Not nearly as bad as the OP.

My 07 G35 leather seats look brand new,and my year old Mustang seats look like crap.My dealer had a ulpolsterer work 4 hours on trying to stretch the wrinkles out.He says they are stitched too loose.The side is wearing too,time for another TSB.
