Where are you paying $6-8K in taxes? I think we are capped at $300 here in South Carolina.

To answer your question, if you really want the GT500, buy the R and resell it. Or sell your allocation for a profit and use the money towards a down payment on the GT500.

Really???? Sales tax in alot of CA is 9%. Almost $7-8k in taxes to buy the GT350R. We have to pay taxes on where you live, not where you buy the car.

Yeah. I live in South Carolina and the car is coming from a dealer in South Carolina. We have a max cap of $300 sales tax on our cars. Now, property tax is a different story. I have no idea how much I will have to give for that, but would estimate around $1000 a year.

You will lose $6-8K in tax and the $7500 ADM.No matter how you look at it your out $15k.
Obviously you have no idea about vehicle taxes in South Carolina.

It is less than that and all depending on what you do with your car.

Generally speaking, buyers interested in the GT 350 are not going to be interested in the GT 500 - the character of the cars will be very different. That said, IMHO the GT 350Rs (and all but a handful of the GT 350s) will be sold long before the GT 500 hits the market.
I totally agree with your comments that buyers of the new generation Boss 302's and GT350's are a totally different breed than owners and enthusiasts of the GT500.

I have had a number of GT500's, Boss 302's and GT350's and personally would never go back to a GT500 car and after numerous conversations in recent years with various Ford management and instructors based out of Utah they also confirmed that in their opinion the small block/naturally aspirated Boss 302/GT350 cars were by far their favorites.

No question that the new GT500 will be a much improved version of the last 8 year model run but until it comes out and proves me different I personally will stick with the high winding/naturally aspirated small block cars and very happy to do so.

PS: I hope that Ford does not plan to build another ~50,000 GT500's as they did from '07 to '14 as it reminds me of what GM has done with the C6 and C7 Corvettes with almost one on every corner.

Send me a PM with your contact information and I will call you sometime this weekend and will provide you with some of the details.

I suggest that we are neighbors and that we don't live very far apart.

I paid a little over $400 for my property taxes on my R in SC.

The gt500 will not threaten the R in any way, in regard to sales. R will be sold out regardless. The NA car is a better long long term hold than a turbo, IMO. Still wont stop me from getting the new GT500, but don't know if I'll keep it for 10 or 20 years like I could a NA. I'm booting a '14 GT500 for a 350R and welcome it. large step down in power (over 225HP), but I have no problem at all doing it. I'd jump on the R, if you don't someone else will, for sure.

Yeah property tax is dependant on what county you live in. Lexington county (where im from) youre probably looking at close to $2k in property taxes on a $70k car. Usually counties with better schools means youre going to pay more in property tax.

And even if you buy an out of state car, you still pay $300 max in sales tax. I bought mine originally in Baltimore and only paid $300 compared to like $4500+ in Maryland taxes.

So, I just got the call that I am #1 to order my Dealer's GT350R allocation. I know you guys don't like ADM, but they are offering it at MSRP+$7500. I think that is a fair deal, but have concern about one thing.

I really like the GT350R, but I think that if the rumors of a monster '18 GT500 hold true, the GT350R will become easier to attain. WHat are your thoughts on the likely performance differences between the R and the next MY GT500? Do you guys think the R will hold enough value to ensure I don't take a complete bath on the R if I decided to upgrade to a 500 in a year or two? Thank you in advance.
Asking the same questions as I am looking at couple 350r also but way more than 7.5k ADM , at that price I would definitely take the allocation , most of my offers are at 25k+ADM .. I agree the 500 will be a different car and the 350r is to good to pass at that price .. Good luck .Good to see some other SC car guys in the 350r boat as I am !! :headbang:

The 350R is like the GT3 and the 500 will likely be like the Turbo S. How much less desirable is the GT3 with the Turbo S out there? Different strokes....no pun intended.

Wish they had a "no thanks" button sometimes. Seems like we have a new member on our site just to talk down the car. Says a lot about character right there. Nice job sport!

As evidenced by the lack of troll, the mods are lightning fast at removing them.
