I'm in for info etc for this.. I just installed Mak cat deletes, and bought a JLT HOT box intake, 47lb injectors, and a new Boss intake that I might do some porting/cleanup on. I am planning on having a flex tune done and running e85 most always. Then if I get bored enough maybe putting a small 50hp-75hp shot of nitrous on (haven't decided if I want a wet or a dry shot yet though). I am pretty curios to see how the car runs afterwards. Can you post any pics of what you shaved off on the top/back of your intake and the notch out of your hood?
Sure, I'll take some pictures of my setup tonight. I'm working on a new manifold cover, should have it mocked up tonight for the pictures.

On my boss, I took down a decent amount around the injector bung and completely smoothed out the lip where the two pieces of the intake are mated. You'll also see that there's a triangular lip on the corner of the port. I removed this completely.

There's the triangular pieces in the corners.

There's mine with them removed.

I did this same modification. The injector boss has a massive excess lip that varies from runner to runner. It appears to be left over material from the injection molding. Very easy to smooth flat and clean up the runners and very worth it. This spot on the intake manifold is vital for smooth entry intake the combustion chamber. Turbulent air here could be detrimental.

I looked at mine last night and all that will be getting smoothed out on mine as well. I'm thinking about "porting" out the inlet behind the throttle body to.. cutting out all those fins and making the diameter or the match the throttle body. I'm curios if those fins help direct the air when it enters the manifold though?

Also, did I read that I wont be able to reinstall my factory PP strut tower brace? Would I be able to if I installed the aftermarket motor mounts and drop the motor 3/4"?

I left the fins. I don't see a reason they could restrict or reduce performance. They say if you remove them it will create a throttle body whistle at light throttle. I have mine and I still have a minor whistle with the boss installed. The port size of the boss manifold and the outlet size of the stock throttle body should be the same size. No need to change that.

That is correct, no more strut tower brace. 3/4" will not allow for the use of the strut tower brace. There is just no way. I could be wrong, but I feel the boss is much taller than the strut brace.

And there is no strut tower brace available to use after the Boss install on a 2015 is there? I know on the 211-14's you were able to swap in a Boss tower brace.

Those fins are simply there to help cut back on the whistling sound when the t.b. opens. It's common practice to remove them when porting.

Not that I know of.

That's what I thought. I was going to remove them, but I don't see a benefit of their removal, unless your opening up that whole area.

it has an engine!

The brace does little. Dont even worry about it. Having strut braces are not uncommon in adding touches of understeer anyway. I have very rarely see strut tower bars be worth having.

No chance any brace fits between the stock hood and the Boss. I chose not to remove the fins to cut down on the whistle noise. I don't think they inhibit flow at all.

This doesn't count for a whole lot since the ethanol blend I'm running is not enough for the timing targeted so the car was pulling timing 5750 and up so power is down a little. The weather was cool this morning. The numbers aren't important but the power and torque curve reveals how the boss with tuned VCT performs.

Nice power up top, very flat. Looks like you need to shift above 8k

I don't feel comfortable doing that. I shift at around 7900 and that's plenty. Car pulls great. The new VCT has really improved the power output. Unfortuntely it has pushed my injectors to the limit.

In cooler weather this morning I hit 52.11 MAF lb/min. Highest numbers to date. However, the extra and cooler air gave the engine what it really liked but the fuel system could not keep up. With the amount of timing I am running, E40 is not enough ethanol to match with the timing so the car was not advancing nearly as much as it should. Since the injectors are maxed, E40 is all I can run so now I am power limited. Next stop is 47ln injectors, then I will push it to the limit.

I'll be loading up my 7900rpm lund tune today after they fixed the limiter. Can't wait to see what it does. You need some 47's kris!
