3/4 of an inch is plenty, which is what most lowering mounts are for the s550. Many also dremel a small hole in the underneath of their hood. Its not that scary. Theres many clean photos in these threads.

Thanks for the response, I was just making sure how much more space would be needed. My new hood will work then. Thanks again

I just read through this entire thread... Just picked up my brand new Boss intake with Ford install kit and two different Ford intake tubes here local to me from someone that decided to not use it on his 2013 gt. I was curious about needing to use the install kit or not on the 2015. I installed a Boss intake on my 2011 but that was a couple years ago. If I don't use the install kit and just use some hose, hardware and the clamps, where does the other end of the hose go... I forget? I'm installing the manifold, swapping to a JLT CAI, Mak cat deletes and a Flex tune... Should be a noticeable difference. Also , are there any better pics of the notch that needs to be cut in the rear of the factory hood? I'm still on the stock motor mounts.

I did not use the install kit. Just factory hoses that I cut a little and some replacement hose to route the line from the PCV valve to the manifold. The ports that are used to open and close the factory manifold IMRCs, I just capped them closed.
