Yeah, I get praised all the time with how it sounds. Usually this is because I'm not at WOT while pulling up to a stop for someone to be able to tell me they like the exhaust sound. It sounds awesome if you take it easy, wish it were that way all the time.
At idle it sounds great. Once again I tried going cheap (MBRP) and look what happened. After installing the Magnaflows I was right at the price of a Magnaflow cat back. :frusty:

Is the exhaust a lot louder with the Magnaflows in place of the MBRP mufflers? I'm curious what the exhaust would sound like with a Roush axel back hooked up to the rest of the MBRP set up.

Yeah, I figured it will be loud since the Roush axel back and x or h pipe resonator delete combo is pretty loud. Not sure I want to spend the cash to be the guinea pig on that though. I need other mods first. Lol.

Based on the poll results thus far, it looks like 5 people (myself not included) are reporting some drone.

I still haven't had a chance to have someone double-check my work. I'm still wondering if having the last bit of pipe before the mufflers at a slightly different length could cause the drone. We will see.

Put mine on last night in 56 mins! No drone. The tips are a little worrying to me but seem solid in place. I'll retourqe today after someore driving. Drove 30 miles home after the install in traffic hwy and city at all kinds of speed and rpms and noticed none.

What'd you think of the raspy-ness >3K RPM?

It is the most ungodly rasp ever. It downright sucks. Now there is no drone. But damn the rasp is just embarrassing. After I ordered my Magnaflow mufflers I did not drive the car til it was time to install the Magnaflows.

I actually love it. Different stroke for sure. I knew what I was getting before I ordered. It's a very consistent sound from over 30 different mustang videos I watched. I really didn't want the drone though, so the Race model was out. Its actually pretty pleasant in the cabin going down the road considering how noisy it is outside and most importantly, no drone I can hear.

Today I did the hood struts from RedLine, 4th brake light and Switchbacks up front both from Diode Dynamics. She got her first bath today too since I picked her up last week on Wednesday. Was a good day :) The oil separator will be here Monday

Next up is a pro-kit and some new shoes. http://s23.photobucket.com/user/Joewhoisphat/library/2016%20Mustang%20GT%20Premium%20Delivery%20April%2020th%202016?sort=3&page=1

I've been looking for a solution to the horrific drone I get at a cruising RPM of 1200 to 2000 in 5th or 6th ever since I installed a Gibson cat-back system. Passengers have said that it wasn't just the church-organ-like noise but that they felt this pressure in their head from it. The car is a convertible and when the top is up you can't stand being in it at 60 ~ 70 mph without the windows being down.
I've looked at the J resonators in the Solo system but am given to understand that both the size of the pipe in the J and the length of it need to be tuned to cancel out the specific drone frequency you are generating in the system. I'm sure you need testing equipment and computer software to figure all that out and I don't know where you would go to get that done. Remember also that the J pipes take the place of your mufflers so you'll have to install something like the Magnaflow X resonator where the factory resonator used to be. And, after all of that, who knows what the car will sound like? Good luck!

Id certainly say that you're in too high a gear if those are the RPMs you're pulling which will accentuate any drone.

I can make mine "drone" in 6th at 1400 RPM, but it's really more like "lugging." No bit of the 2200 RPM drone so common in the older cars. Rasp is much less than when the system was new (It has about 1500 miles on it now) but is still there at higher RPM especially when it's cold outside. But I like it overall.
