JL Stealthbox upgrade

After suffering with the totally inadequate premium 9 speaker sound system for a year, it was time to upgrade. I decided to start with adding the JL Audio Stealthbox and a 600 watt JL subwoofer amp. Yes, it's overpriced but I wanted the finished OEM look and to preserve trunk space. The amp is mounted under the drivers seat. I also have a bass volume knob in the console. My local audio shop did an excellent job!

The difference is astounding! Clean, pounding bass and even better sound from the other original speakers. I didn't expect so much improvement from the rest of the speakers. The audio shop wanted to upgrade the other speakers but I'm happy to leave them alone.

So, if you've been thinking about this upgrade, DO IT! I go for rides now just to listen to music!

Agreed! I don't even remember what the Shaker sub looks like. Never had it. Rumor has it this one sounds better too.

Pic won't show much but a little black knob. They removed the entire center console to drill a small hole on the front face where it flips open, installed the knob, then ran the wire up from the amp under the seat. To be honest, I don't change it....just leave it turned up all the way for full bass. So, probably a waste of money. If you still want a pic I can get one tomorrow.

It doesn't have to be JL box, I can settle for the offbrand one as well.

That looks great in there. And I'm sure that JL sub does sound really good. I was really wanting this but couldn't justify the price. I went with a zenclosure box that's a custom fit for the rear of our seats. So ya, I lost 10" of my trunk depth but it was half the price if people are looking for other options.

Yeh, that looks like a nice job too! Did you add an amp? If so, where did you mount that?
