- 2016 Race Red GT Fastback, due sometime in October
1. Academic (more admin than research these days unfortunately).
2. 38 - Auto. Wife says manual must be reserved for a Corvette (hoping to restore a chrome-bumper C3 in the years ahead)
3. V8. Did not even consider the Ecoboost.
4. Fastback. I quote someone else: "Also wouldn't feel comfortable parking it anywhere, too many arseholes out there who would only be too happy to slash the roof." And fastback just looks right. My favourite Mustang is the '69 Mustang Fastback, and this is close enough.
5. Qld - RR. Having second thoughts ...
My dad has a '67 Mustang (289) that was (supposedly) built for me - although I think he just wanted a new car project, but I've no room at present for it, so it's technically not mine. It's getting new headers today! Wonder how much it will change the sound.
I think I was number 100 on the survey and what intrigued me was 60% have ordered the nickel alloys. I did too.
On demographics, data is probably skewed because more in the younger brackets are active on this forum. Think someone has already pointed this out.
Of the 20-29 group, I'd be interested to know if you have had much of a car enthusiast family background. I come from what some might describe as a somewhat 'boganic' family, and I helped rebuild my first car (an HQ 1-tonner). Dad has always been playing around with older cars, mainly 6s but a few V8s - I wish he had never gotten rid of the V8 (289) XR Fairmont we had as a kid. Yes, I'm over educated with more degrees than common sense (as my dad would say), but playing with cars (however inexpertly) is what I grew up around.
