Finally my R is scheduled

I've been dead set on Oxford White with blue stripes for forever. Now I'm weeks from my build (I hope) and I'm starting to question that...

I feel like going with our initial feelings is the right way to go. At least I tell myself that!

I was told a date of April 15th build date but when I ask the dealer where they got that date, he could not find it (maybe the zone manager told them?)

Color........ well my first chose was white with blue stripes, and black roof....and has been several since then..lol...........you have to go with what YOU want NOT with the color you think everyone else will like...this was my biggest problem asking everyone of my friends and family.....W.S. If you have any second thoughts on your color/stripe/roof choice go get it changed and suggest that you will feel much better.

Certainly the color choice you presently have is terrific but suggest that you still have time to change to another color combination subject to your car not being built within the next 3 or 4 weeks?

I'm not sure if it's second thoughts or just that these cars look great in a lot of different colors. My OW with blue choice is in no small part because that is the classic combination for GT350s. My GT350R is a purchase in lieu of a 427 Shelby Cobra replica so blending the new and the old is something I'm trying to do here.

The color that has caught my fancy lately is Avalanche Gray. It really is very cool, especially with a black roof and stripes. While not matte, it is a relatively flat color which has been a cool fad in performance cars, but a fad nonetheless. I question whether Avalanche Gray will hold up in 10 years.

Now if there were a Guardsman Blue with Wimbledon White stripe option I'd be all over it...

April 15th sounds about right is you are about 60days out. The week of production you can pull the window sticker. As you get closer, FP will have more detailed info to give you

I got my VIN 2 weeks ago today and it is currently scheduled for an April 4th build. I have not been able to pull a window sticker yet.

I am old school guy and I would have chosen Wimbledon White with Guardsman Blue stripes as well if it was available.

Why they did not offer Wimbledon white on the GT350 R's is just wrong...giving it to the anniversary edition :shrug: IF I was to wait for the 2017 it would be the Ruby Red for me in the R.. Triple R

Ford has shut down all but one or two of the window sticker sites, so start trying after you get a firm build (blend) date - but you may not be able to pull it until after the car is produced. Mine was available three days ahead of the Blend Date.

So, now you have the VIN. Next step is the Build Week, in a week or two. Then comes the Build Date in another week or two. Then comes the Release Date, anywhere from immediately to who knows when. Then comes Shipping to you, which could take 2-3 weeks. So, adding all of those things up, IMHO plan your delivery party around May 1. The best news is that Flat Rock is only cranking out Mustangs now, so hopefully that will tighten up the timeframe.

By the way, VINs have nothing to do with build order. Thirty GT 350s were built the same day my first one was built, and the spread on the VINs was more than 900. Only the chassis numbers are sequential.
