It took a few months of research and searching, but I was finally able to install the rear seats into the R for my kids.

Note: I noticed that I forgot to pull the buckles through the slot, but the are buckles are installed.

Hi Jeff,
Looks awesome! Where did you find those seats...ebay? Also does it bother you that the rear seat stiching is not red?

I bought those rear seats off of someone who installed a lot rear seat delete kit. That's why I was missing quite a bit of installation hardware that I needed to procure. It didn't bother me about not having the red stitching because the 15-18 R rear seat kit doesnt exactly match the 19R seats perfectly. I didn't mind the mismatched seats, they were fine for my needs. The leather comfort seats are also easier to clean than the cloth versions, it was a not an issue.

I think I'm all in for my rear seats at $700. I paid $350 for the seats. $125 shipping via greyhound shipping. Then I needed to repurchase the seatbelts because I didnt want to cut my trim. Then purchase the rear parcel shelf and all the nuts and bolts.

There are members out there selling their seats for around $300-$350. Just have to put the word out and keep your eye out for them.

Let me know if you end up needing part numbers to parts. I'm more than happy to share my research to anyone who needs it.

Anyone know how much more weight it adds to the R by adding rear seats? Maybe like 50-80lbs?

any pics you can share? And if you could share who did the work? Thanks for sharing!

I’m looking to put rear seats in my 2020 GT350R as well, I’ll trade my rear seat delete too.

Just installed mine today. I’ll send pictures of it when it’s finished. Might be staining the white thread black to blend in.

I like to disassemble things.

The difference between the two, installed, is 32lbs. I went the other way, installing a FR rear seat delete which used all factory parts. I weighed each and every component.

Is that with the subtraction of the rear seat delete kit? So total 27lbs?

No.

From the writeup I did at the time the totals were:
- seat bottom 11.2 lbs
- seat backs 19.4 lbs (total, as there are two)
- hardware/belts/brackets 8.4 lbs

That's 39 lbs of weight removed, prior to the delete install.

The weight you add back in was as follows:
- delete panel 6.6 lbs
- hardware .4 lbs

So you add 7 lbs back in, bringing the weight savings number for this mod (removing the rear seats for a RSD kit) to a grand total of 32 lbs of weight reduction.

Have you or anyone thought about sharpie the stitching black or red to blend in instead of white thread?
