Recently I had an opportunity to pass on my V6 '15 auto 3.15 (went to a family member) and purchase a V6 '16 manual 3.15 (no, I can't afford a GT and don't like EBs :headbonk:). This is my first manual and I'm having a blast rowing gears.

However, one thing I noticed is that the manual feels heavier and slower in comparison to auto. Putting auto in Sport mode made the throttle so responsive I loved it, but now I have no choice but to drive with a heavy throttle to feel anything. Is it just me or is it normal? To my understanding there are no special modes that re-map the throttle, correct?

Is my only option to tune the car in order to obtain a better throttle response?

Did you try Sport/Sport+ mode for your manual car?

Unfortunately, Ford did not bless V6's with selectable drive modes. To my knowledge, we can only turn off TC or AdvanceTrac completely - that's it.

Aw, that sucks! I thought all the base options at the very least had a normal, sport and track mode.

I believe drive modes are actually premium option only (might be a PP). So even a base EB/GT won't have them.

Yeah, I've read that the V6 manual felt slower. They say the 3.55 manual feels like the 3.15 auto. Maybe try PedalMax to improve the throttle response.

I did run my V6MT against my friend's auto, and mine was faster every run....might just be a feel thing.

Manuals are slower. You CANNOT shift faster than a computer can (think its 8ms or something ridiculous). A tune will net you what you are looking for, as you suspect.

Auto put about 20 less HP to the ground so while they launch better and shift faster, they aren't really quicker.
The sport table is still in the ECU on the V6 manual and can be accessed by a tuner.

The best 2 items you need is a SCTx4 tuner and JMS PedalMAX the PedalMAX will increase the voltage from the throttle sensor to the throttle body so for about $420 you'll have what you want quick Mustang

pedal max would probably fix your feels..

as for MT vs AT, as previously stated, your loosing more power through the AT. and somebody who can shift really well....can shift probably just as quick as the AT. also, the MT weighs a touch less...and IMO is way more fun to drive. ive driven rental AT's for about 4 months on long work trips...while fun, they feel real doggy off the line...and the best 1/4 I could get from one was in the low 15's...per track aps at 4500ft. my MT runs a 13.2@105 on track aps....with your basic bolt ons/tune. find me a AT running that with a intake, exhaust and tune...and your my new hero :) I do want a set of 3:55's to optimize acceleration, but I feel the 3:15's work decent with the MT. the ratios are a little better on the MT trans compared to the AT...

plus....AT is boring....no way in hell id ever purposely buy one, especially a performance car. but that's just my opinion, so take with mucho salt.

You must be a rare exception to the case of manual vs. auto. My auto v6 was beating manual V6's and the auto ecoboost are much faster then the manual ones in the 1/4 mile. Nonetheless impressive times for your car. I do believe a very good manual driver would give an auto a good run though.

Also manual drivers lose races a lot due to grinding a gear or putting it in the wrong gear lol. Funny when that happens

or you can not buy the pedal max and just have the person tuning the car adjust the pedal sensitivity. talk about killing one bird with two stones here.:frusty:
