That's exactly why I got the axlebacks. Once I installed it I realized it wasn't loud enough so I cut out the resonator and put in a mishimoto h pipe. Now it's loud enough and the setup is cheaper than the cat back.
Im running that setup. Had the GT catbacks for a while and recently installed gt Borla s-types axblebacks. The sound is great. Nice deep tone throughout the rpms, good volume but not too loud. I love it. Though I can't say how much different it would be compared to running it with the stock catback
I have the oem gt catback on my v6 and yesterday I installed borla s type axle backs (gt ones to fit the 2.5 cat back pipe). I wonder if my setup sounds any different from having 2.25 borla axle backs with the stock v6 resonator.

Same here. I've always gotten 14-15 mpg on the stock setup. I just stopped caring after awhile. I did notice that idling brings the mpg's down pretty quick tho. I do a lot of city driving (stop and go), I'd imagine if I drove in an area with less lights and stop signs my mpg would be where it...
It only gets better! At least that was my experience after breaking it in. Tone got deeper and louder but still maintained that smooth kinda sound:headbang:
I wrapped mine this weekend, not the best job, but just wanted to see what it'll look like. I'm might get it done professionally later. I'll post pics when I get home
Yeah my oem GT exhaust sounds deeper now than when I first put it on. Maybe it "settled in" not sure, but I know the tone got deeper and louder. The original owner only used it for about 1000 miles I think and I've been driving with it in my car for about 700. I can't see a better mod for the...
