Good evening everybody,

i have a question regarding the difference between the s-mode on the automatic transmission shift knob and the Sport Mode off the toggle switch? is there any difference at all? sorry if this has been covered, i couldn't find anything via the search function.

In Sport+ mode on the toggle, the downshifts SEEM to me to be a little more aggressive than in S mode. Other than that, not a lot of difference, though I understand there's supposed to be a difference in throttle response but I don't notice it.

Thank you for clearing that up! It seemed redundant at first to have two modes, now not so much anymore.
Do you prefer the toggle mode or the shift knob mode?

S mode for the transmission changes the transmission gear shifting. The toggle or on base cars, hitting the traction control button twice changes the operation of traction control. From what I have read from the owners manual for the premium the toggle supposedly changes some aspects of the ecu/tuning. Look it up.

When you use sport+ and track, the transmission is automatically in S even when the physical shifter is still in D.

Never heard that before. Where in the manual does it state that?

Is "Sport+" available on base GT cars or only on the Premium trim GT's?
Premium only however on base cars if you hit the TC button twice in a row it is put into sport mode.

So the "Sport" mode on base cars is exactly the same mode as "Sport+" for the Premium cars but instead of a dedicated toggle(Premium) you have to hit the traction control button twice(Base) to achieve the mode, correct?

The manual does not say that but that's what it feels like when you select sport+ or track. The transmission suddenly select a lower gear and rematching downshift.

Sport+ and track mode on the premium also increases throttle response. Whereas hitting the traction control button twice loosens up the nannies a bit for more spirited driving. You'll be able to spin the tires a bit more and maybe get a little sideways before the traction control kicks in.

In Sport+ mode on the toggle, 6th gear is locked out. The downshifts SEEM to me to be a little more aggressive than in S mode. Other than that, not a lot of difference, though I understand there's supposed to be a difference in throttle response but I don't notice it.
What if you use both? Been driving a lot in sport+ lately on the toggle switch, the gear shift mode stayed on D, haven't tried both yet. The downshift is indeed more aggressive in sport+ and the car breaks more on the engine than in normal drive... still curious about using both though...

Close but sport is supposedly different then Sport+ Sport just changes the traction control settings. Sport+ supposedly changes some other tuning aspects of the engine and the traction control.

Maybe but somehow that does not sound right. Does anyone know if the shifter is fully electronic or does it still use a cable to change modes?

Lmao, it's not 1980's anymore. Everything is electronic.:ninja:
The only thing that is mechanical on an auto is probably the parking claw.
