So do you guys think the 1LE will lose weight compared to the current 1SS with MRC and NPP?

Curious how the 1LE could beat a GT350 being down on power, and that power difference being in a very important range. It is going to have to carry great speed in and out of the corners, thats for sure!!
I doubt it will lose much weight due to the much larger brakes, wheels, tires, anti-roll bars (maybe they go hollow?), wheel hubs, etc. Not sure there is much weight left to pull out to compensate for heavier, more robust components that are necessary for track use.

As far as speed goes, the regular GT350 could use a little more front grip, so if the 1LE is a bit better balanced I feel it could hang with a GT350. Tires could make a big difference as well. The Super Sports on the GT350 are excellent tires, but not sure if they handle the high temps from track use as well as whatever might come on the 1LE.

Also, IMO the sport mode setting on the GT350 could stand to be even more well-damped (I'd personally like the sport setting to be normal and then have an even sportier one). That might be another way the 1LE could gain time - in rapid transitions due to more damping.

Overall I'd say the GT350 is leaving very little on the table, so GM will need to really make an awesome car for the 1LE to be significantly faster. They've done a great job recently on other cars though, so anything's possible.

I think GM shot itself in the foot a bit by releasing info on these new models before some of its standard models are even hitting the dealers. You need to roll things out in sequence, imo they should have waited until things had died out a touch from the cars initial release.

As far as supply goes, I pass 4 dealerships on a regular basis. Not one has moved any of the visible 6th gen cars, all of which happen to be parked on the front row or easily seen in their showrooms. I'm sure the car is selling but not sure it's a hot commodity, maybe it's just the winter months.

Well @ least the base 16 SS has all three coolers engine ,trans and diff plus and a catch can. Sorry but Ford was stupid on this design no coolers on 72% of 350's and no catch can.... even on the R. So a Mustang GT PP can beat 72% of the shelbys on the track. Limp mode good..NOT !
Oh yeah if the 350 R wants to enter ford track events ...Ford recommends a catch can. Also the the aftermarket coolers for the base and tech cars.

I was thinking the same thing. I think weight will likely stay the same, but with the extra weight of the beefier parts its a toss up. Surely GM left some weight savings on the table for this chassis. With the Stingray GS release, it is very safe to assume there will be no power bump for whatever replaces the Z28. Seems GM will take a similar approach as Ford, and lighten up the chassis for the Z28, as with the GT350R, and keep the same engine configuration. Time will tell, but it is exciting to watch it all unfold.

It has 3 radiators and an oil cooler of the side of the block. Unless it's an auto you will need the 1le package to get the trans and diff coolers.

All V8 Camaros have three radiators, a transmission heat exchanger, a liquid to liquid cooler for the engine oil, and a liquid to liquid cooler for the diff oil. The entire cooling system is tied together and uses all three radiators and the trans heat exchanger to cool everything. The 1LE package is supposed to have improved cooling over the standard SS.

Check out the Camaro baby crying excuses on camaro6g.com why the 2016 Camaro is not selling well. LOL
http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=442490

Excuses
#1: Once Canada is added in it'll be over 10,000 units sold.
#2: I still think the pricing is an issue for your average car buyer.
#3: Also supply still seems pretty low - most dealers this past month only had a handful of cars.
#4: I think it was due alot to the constraints and some scheduler at the plant not being on the ball with incoming orders.
#5: Currently Cars.com shows only 10,801 2016 Camaro's of all trims available nation wide.
#6: There is still very little public knowledge about this car. I have had people stop and ask me "what the hell car is that"? LOL

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

This shit is hilarious!!

That means, each state has 216 camaros available if you want to look at it from that perspective to show how things are distributed, which I know it is not. If there are ~11k cars available, shit should be selling, plain and simple.

EDIT - I just saw one guy say "They made the better (for me) and more expensive car." WTH kinda logic is that? The more expensive car is better for him? LMFAO. I guess that is like me saying, that my 46k GTPP is better cause it is most expensive 2015 model when I bought it.

Talking about sales numbers doesn't even belong in this thread

I've seen the new Camaro in person twice. Awful.

If they marked the 1LE price down a further 50% - I still wouldn't buy it.

Let's ditch this thread and instead talk about awesome cars.

Possible candidates for future cool car threads where we bench race and measure our weiners.

Corvette Stingray
Corvette Stingray Grandsport
Porsche 997 GT3

Nah I think we should delete this one so we don't clutter up the true pedigree with the riff raff.
