Yes I believe so. All the 3 guys mentioned it. The videos I have is just of mine on the track in a different group... here's one-

Yes... after some cooling down I'd say for approx 30mins max they can go out again for 15-20mins or so of track time before reduced power mode kicks in.
My fear is what happens when it is 90 degrees. You mentioned the temp. was in the 50's. Does the cool down increase? I would think so. The cool down could increase to over an hour. That would not be good! :(

On hotter ambient temps, I would unfortunately presume the cool down period would increase. :(

Besides either a Ford Performance or an aftermarket cooler mod that hopefully will be produced, I think there should also be R&D'ing on an air cooling mode such as an trans air scoop kinda like what exist for Boss 302's. A combo of this would help.... plus IIRC a heat shroud on the exhaust or cats in proximity to the trans can also further aid.

Just found out about this forum. Pretty awesome. Just joined and have to chime in about limp mode on the GT 350.

Ford should be embarrassed. They should immediately recall these cars and fix them. Just at a track event last night at PBIR. Ran novice and during warm-up laps after 10 minutes car went into limp mode. I see some of the other guys in attendance have also posted about this.

During the first session, running novice, with instructor, follow the leader to learn the track. Follow the leader was with the GT with performance package. Embarrassing that a normal GT outperforms my GT 350. 10 minutes into the session, not running hard because I'm trying to let the GT driver keep up, card goes into limp mode. Limits revs to 5000. The next two sessions, same thing. Limp mode after about 10 to 12 minutes. GT drivers had no problem.

As has already been mentioned in the forum, we had four other GT 350s at the track. One had the track pack and had no overheating issues. All three GT 350s without the track pack ran into limp mode in about 10 to 15 minutes in the session.

Totally not acceptable. On Monday I will likely drop my car off at the Ford dealership, not to pick it up until the problem has been resolved or the car's replaced. Again, for should be embarrassed. Not one other sports car experiences this problem after 10 minutes going at a moderate to slow pace on the track.

For the guys I met last night, I have the gray GT350 with the black stripes.

I used to have an M3 and Subaru STI. Never had any overheating issues, even running them hard. Ford worked hard on the GT350 to get non-mustang owners. They got me. But if they don't get this resolved quickly.....

^It's good to see you here Ron. Welcome. And it was nice to meet you last night. Your car looks absolutely awesome in Magnetic.

It's unfortunate and I feel bad for you guys hitting limp mode especially even in the novice group. I definitely would let Ford Performance and the dealer hear about the issue.

Welcome to the forums.

Sorry to hear about your cooling issue . As you may have already read in this thread, there is definately cooling issues with base/tech cars.

Best is like you said you would do, bring in your cars to have them diagnosed by Ford.

Ford is supposedly working on a fix. That's all we have for now.

Welcome Ron, nice write up for your first post on 6G and on the track with your 350, and what was going on with the 350 cars.... I'm also hoping that Ford will do something on this, for I also have a new GT350 on order Technology package, Avalanche grey, Black roof, and Black stripes..... Thanks for your input on this......  thanks John

the more people who take to dealers, have it diagnose and reported
to Ford performance, the more pressure it puts on Ford.
As already stated, Ford is working on the problem, the more feed back/info
they get, the faster they can/will fix it.
I hope it is solved before spring, when temps start going up,
so all those who have can enjoy to the fullest.

the folks complaining it might have been isolated issues and non systemic seem to be very quiet now.

Hopefully this gets a remedy, I'm already trying to work a negotiation with my dealer to do a trade on my 2016 as soon as he can get a grabber blue 2017. Thought about keeping both then the realization I don't want 2 payments kicked in, then the thought of my wife in the other one scared the shit out of me.

Im holding out for a 2017 b/c of this. They are going to have to do something. Glad I didn't buy a 2016 at this point.
My 2016 350 tech will arrive at the dealer on Monday the 29th. I should be jumping up and down but what I really feel is SICK! I placed my deposit in March 2015, yes one year ago and this is how it ends up.

I hope they can resolve it quickly. Ford lets their dealers do HUGE markups. Porsche and BMW don't allow this from dealers. I'm sure we all paid a hefty premium for our GT350s (love your R). If they don't fix it fast and "do right" by all us initial purchasers, word will definitely get out. Values will drop. Poor reputation for the car will set in. That will hurt a lot more than me not getting a full 15 minutes of tracktime!

I appreciate all the comments from everyone. Nice forum!

I should have kept my 07 GT. I could track it all day long in 90 degree weather with no problems.

You can always refuse delivery and ask the dealer to make you first in line for a 2017.

Just curious, with a name like track crazy, im assuming you plan to take it to the track quite often, in which case why did you go elect the track pack?

so far the stats on this forum is:
with the exception of 1 tech pack car, every single tech/base car went to limp mode after 10-15mins.

I know ford is working on a solution, they have to. but it also makes me wonder what kinda testing were they doing in the first place? if they know the car won't do 10mins of track in 60F temp, why would they even release it for public purchase?

Also, track days are not cheap, you pay a fixed cost to go there, cost you gas to go there. if you are suppose to get 6 sessions of full 20mins, but now are getting 6 sessions of 12 mins. you are losing money right there. is Ford gonna pay for that loss?

I looked into this quite seriously on whether to go with the tech or track pack. I talked to veteran HPDE track guys and even pro racers. The consensus at the time was that the coolers would be nice but not necessary. So I wanted a track car but also wanted the comforts of the tech pack. Remember even if you are a serious track guy you spend most of your driving time off the track.
