Okay, I have answered one of the questions that humanity has been pondering since the very dawn of our species. I now have absolutely compelling, one-hundred-percent watertight evidence that there is no God.
I live in an apartment complex and was entering it in my old Celica and, lo and behold, on the right was a shiny new car. My car! Race red! GT! Just for a half a second I thought, that IS my car! It's come early! What a surprise! Then I realized that Ford Australia doesn't even know when cars are being delivered to Australian customers, so they certainly don't hand deliver them to your place of residence. It was, alas, in the parking space of my next-door neighbour.
So, now I have to see this thing every day? He does bring home different cars on a weekly basis as he's a car salesman (I've seen him with a shirt saying "Toyota"), so I'm hoping this is similarly a loan car of sorts? But it doesn't make sense for a non-Ford car dealer to have a new Mustang on sale so soon ...
If you don't hear from me again, it's because I've cancelled my order and bought a Getz instead, or because I've taken a walk over the side of a cliff.
For those interested in the car, absolutely perfect apart from slight bonnet pinch, and a scuff mark on one of the door handles (be careful with your keys, or if you wear rings). Paint looked thicker than what I saw on another Race Red GT up close. One thing that's new to me is that there is a Ford symbol buried in the black around the rear view mirror. You can see it if you get close. Other odd thing is that it has a Castrol sticker on the windscreen.
If you are waiting for your Mustang DO NOT MOVE TO THE GOLD COAST. I have seen 5 separate cars in 3 weeks. It's a plague I tell you ...

The lights do really look good, the pic quality kills it.
At least he is going a different route than what most will

And some know better than Ford and spend their hard earned on these.

To me it's a slightly different story to the exhaust and suspension because these cater to the majority and were done due to cost.
CFD design of the intake opening size has more to do with function than cost, coz if they wanted a bigger opening they'd just punch out more holes in the honeycomb.
I'm already worried about the heat under the bonnet due to our 'Oz spec' bonnet, then again we never heard any owners have problems. I wonder how many took them out in full traffic in perth on our 42 degree days....i'll be doing it next summer for sure.

That IS a bit of a worry. I would definitely prefer the vents to not having them.

Apparently the cost is negligable as he has access to a water/laser cutter.
The only area that restricts airflow is the actual area around the lights as he has made a mest insert.
Yes the heat under the bonnet is a concern. But as you mention it is engineered...so it must be okay:lol::lol:
I wonder how many hater I will chalk up, wanting to burn it with fire when I post pictures of it:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Apologies if I was unclear.
The point I was making was that Ford engineered the exhaust and suspension to a cost - not necessarily best performance.
Ford engineered the grille opening to an optimum performance, and if more holes were needed then they would have done them at factory. You'll notice the slot isn't as big as the grill because apparently optimum airflow was achieved with a smaller slot.
I wasn't talking about him punching out holes himself.
