Warranty in Oz explained

I see a few of us are a little concerned about how various things might impact on the new car warranty.
Well, I watched this (John Cadogan) for about 14 minutes and felt that some of the information contained might be quite useful.
He also talks about how long parts should be expected to last (puddle lamps?)

He's been good at calling out car companies like this... always informative. Now that I think about it, a mate encountered problems with transmission in his not so old Ford Focus. He ended up exchanging for new Ford Focus with $6k on top from his pocket. I wonder he should have pushed harder and gotten a replacement.

Whether his criticisms are entirely warranted (geddit), I don't know.
But he certainly paints a grim picture. The best you can do is educate yourself and hope that your car wasn't built on Friday. addle:

I agree, he does come off with sky is falling tone but I learned quite a bit from his notes.
