BDMACH!, add the VIN# to this URL after the "=" Should give you a window sticker, which has the Blend Date at the top
What happens if nothing pops up? Does it mean the car isn't close to being built?
It used to come up about a week before the build date, guys. However, this link has been blocked for public access so it may not work.

Hi Deysha/Meagan,
Any updates? I sent you guys a PM at the beginning of this week to see if my build date and/or VIN had been assigned.

Still no response :)

Thanks for the (forthcoming) update (I hope!)
Well, as my signature now says, I've got my VIN and a build date  Car will be building the week of 2/29/16-3/4/16. Would be really awesome if it got built on Feb 29th, then I'd have a really rare car (one built on a leap day)
Thanks FordService Deysha and Megan for the help you two provide us on this forum :hail:
You’re very welcome, ElAviator72! We’ll get back to you soon and thank you for your patience.

The excitement is building!
That’s great news, cyberbro!!

Thank you Rachel and Deysha for the info on my car. Excited to see if my car will be built on leap year as well.
A March 30, or first week of April delivery is exciting.
Thank you Rachel and Deysha for the info on my car as well. They keep us up todate on status. Great Job. Hopefully it will be coming down the line next week. Then approximately one month for del.
You’re very welcome, guys! Thank you for your support and kind words!

Damn, mine was ordered on the 9th, haven't received a vin yet. Was told mine is still in ordering processing.
This is normal, Sixth. Orders are scheduled based on the following criteria:
- the priority code rating
- the dealer's allocation for each production week
- the ordered option content
- the receipt date
The receipt date is a factor when breaking ties for orders with the same priority code. Therefore, the date is the last factor.

Just placed my order today!
2016 Mustang EcoBoost Premium Fastback
Triple Yellow Tri-Coat
Yellow Jacket Interior
6-Speed Manual Transmission

EcoBoost Performance Pack
Enhanced Security Pack
Reverse Sensing System

Very excited to get a build date and get my car!
Just ordered mine 2/17/16
Premium GT PP
Shadow Black
premier trim ebony
navigation
reverse sensors

Congrats, guys!! Be sure to PM me with your dealer’s names and order numbers so I can track them.

Morning Deysha!
Yes...I got a pm from Rachel, she had given me my VIN# for the car. How long does it take to schedule a build date now that a VIN has been created??
Thanks a lot for keeping track of it for me, we really appreciate it!

Hi FordService

Are you able to trace an order without an order number? I know the build, dealer ID, and could obviously give my name.

Thanks

Edit: Received my VIN today!

Just wondering if anyone else has or is experiencing this…. I placed an order on January 29th, 2016 for a GT Convertible CS and to date no VIN number has been generated. I have read ahead of this posting that some individuals whom ordered after the 29th have received their VIN’s. Is it because my order is generated from Canada and it takes longer due to fewer blocks of build dates for Canadian cars? BTW I did pm Deysha and have received a response indicating the order is still being processed.
My father was a service manager for 25 years (Ford dealer) and to this day I still have people asking if I’m related to him and then they profess their gratitude for the attention and care he took looking after their problems and I see the same thing right here with Deysha, Rachel & Meagan. So like many others before me, THANKS for all the attentiveness that you provide to these postings and pm’s.

I ordered on January 14th, and didn't get my VIN until last Friday...so it can be pretty normal.

P.S. I don't think that Canadian cars are block built. They are pretty much identical to US cars except they come down the line with a speedometer where the outside numbers are in KM/Hr instead of MPH  I think, though, that we've collectively deduced in this forum that Convertibles are block built ;)

BTW: do the LED "shark gill" lights count as Daytime Running Lights in Canada, or do they do something different to meet the Canadian DRL requirement? I tried to get an insurance discount on my last car by saying it had DRLs, but the insurance company countered that the LED "decorative" lights don't count :tsk:

Thanks for the feedback ElAviator72. I suspected as much in regards to the convertibles but wondered if maybe there were other items that warranted a special Canadian build; like engine pollution modules, running light modules, polar bear deflectors :) et cetera. I guess if one thinks about it, it's just grabbing the correct item to install on the assembly line as the pony gallops by.

Most of the high end late model vehicles in Canada now utilize LED lights for running lights. Both my 2013 Escape and 2014 B250 use LED's for the running lights. My 2006 Mustang GT simply uses a module that reduces the output on the main headlamps.

It depends on all sorts of factors. My dealer told me if the plant is building Explorers on this day, they are building Explorers for X amount of days/weeks/months or however they do it. If they are building Mustangs on X day they are building fastbacks. Convertibles the next week or month, etc. Also dealers with higher sales are probably prioritized more-so than a smaller/slower dealer.

I am sure you being in Canada is another factor. To insure everything is installed correctly from the factory your car is probably on hold until a bunch of Canadian Mustangs are built.

The Flat Rock plant builds nothing but Mustangs...ironic, isn't it? That's where the Ford Probe (which was supposed to "kill" the Mustang) was built

Not entirely true.

Chicago Assembly can build an Explorer followed by a Taurus followed by an MKS followed by an Explorer if that's what market demand warrants:

Flat Rock builds convertibles and fastbacks at the same time:

There may be limited numbers of convertibles made on certain days or weeks, but there isn't a switch that gets thrown to build nothing but convertibles this day or week.

Supplier sites have to produce parts constantly. Some supplier makes the headliner for the fastback and some company makes the folding roof for the convertible. It wouldn't be fair to either to not constantly buy parts every day or week. Because cars are built using Just-in-Time production methods, the plants don't warehouse parts, they are delivered as they are consumed.

I also see you got the same exact car as me, except I got my F30 msport in estoril blue, lease is up next month so Im buying the mustang, I was really happy with the car, not too happy with the monthly payment though. Heres to many good years.

The Flat Rock Assembly Plant builds Ford Mustangs and Ford Fusions at the same time, ElAviator72.
