I will be purchasing an Eco-Boost and need some advice

There is a private party Base Ecoboost non Performance Pkg available for $21k.
4k miles on car
I can get a brand new Eco w/ the Perf pkg for $26k OTD from my dealer.
Both cars are 2016s.

What would you choose in this scenario? Is i crazy to consider the new one at $5k more?

How many options from the Performance pkg can be added after the fact?

I need some advice from the experts. Thanks!

The Performance Package for GT's is more expensive than the PP for EB; EB is: $1995.00 (MSRP) and the GT is: $2495.00 (MSRP), as you said. OP, 5K is a lot to pay for the Performance Package on the EB, in my opinion.

Well your also starting with a straight up brand new car with little to no miles on it compared to one with 4k and no performance package plus you don't know what the other one has been through regardless of what the person says. I would get the new one from the dealer IMO.

Is 4k a lot of miles for the Eco boost? Ive seen the car, it doesn't appear to have been abused.

How are the brakes on the non PP vs PP Eco?
Will the 3.55 diff make a noticeable difference?
This car will be mostly a DD, so it will primarily see city driving.

Thanks again for all of the advice.

Im leaning towards new, but $5k isn't chump change.

If I could do it all over again I would have bought lightly used and saved thousands... To each his own tho.

New. PP is much better and on long term, people will always pay more, when you want to sell for a PP. 3.55 is muuuuch better. I came from a '15 non PP to a '16 PP and what a difference.

It's not that 4k miles is a lot. But you don't know the history of those 4k miles. I say the $5000 is worth it because you're getting a new car first and foremost but the PP would be nice too. I find it odd when those that have it and say it's not worth but the those of us that don't have it want it. The bigger radiator, bigger brakes, better differential, and sway bars would all be worth it. Maybe one can get those parts aftermarket for less money and put them on themselves and save on labor but for those like me that don't want to fuss and just want it right/plug and play from date of purchase, the PP is worth itand I wish I had it.

I would say buy it I went from a 15 base ecoboost to a prem pp ecoboost and don't regret it a bit. But you will take a little hit once you drive the new car off the lot and its more what are you gonna do long term with the car, Keep it stock or mod it. If your going to mod it get the performance pack

When i had my PP EB the things i liked about it was the turned aluminum dash, extra 2 gauges in the dash 3.55 gears, bigger radiator and brakes. I did find it rode a little bouncy.

It was hard to see the gauges from the drivers seat due to the position they were in. It was a nice touch but really didn't use them much.

If i was in the op's shoes i would probably buy the used EB just for the money savings.

I dig the PP gauges like most, but its def not worth the price of admission.
