One of the nicest things about the 1LE is it's a package. Check Box order a whole lot of car.

This is the part that doesn't make sense to me. So when Ford came up with the s550 gtpp, it didn't even bother benchmarking the real competition previous gen 1le! Now Chevy comes in and benchmarkes the real competition gt350! (mustang gt is no longer a rival) I think instead of making jokes and ditching reality we need to think twice here! If the performance package camaro comes in even close to the performance of a gt350 and shows a significantly lower price, then we all should wake up from this nightmare!
With the GT350 you get a one off hand built FPC 32v/4cam $200K Ferrari type engine. With the Camaro you get an all purpose LS type assembly line engine that comes in Pickup Trucks, Vans, Motorhome etc.............

That is why in 3 yrs your $45K Camaro will be worth about $20K. LOL

The Stingray was my realistic dream car.... that is, until the GT350 was born. When I found out the details on the GT350, the Corvette went straight out the window. There just isn't any comparison. Chevy will use that 6.2L in anything and everything that they can.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great engine for what it is, and it just makes business sense to put the engine everywhere they can, but there's absolutely nothing special about it. It's not just limited to the chevy V8. The Mustang GT's V8 does nothing for me either.

The GT350's V8 though, makes absolutely no sense, no one would bet in a million years Ford would make a 8200+RPM flat-plane crank, big V8. It just doesn't make any fucking sense, and it's perfect.

As it happenes to even gt500's the resale value of the gt350 will still go down. The worse problem is if Ford passes down the 5.2 to the regular mustang gt then things might get even more interesting.

Here is what is really going to happen, Ford is going to up the game and push the regular mustang gt to surpass the new camaro, with that it will also surpass the old brother gt350 ( Boss 302 vs GTPP but i hope in a straight line too this time)! Then you can still keep your gt350 with the high resale value while other people are buying a faster more refined better new generation car for less money!

That is well said, and my favorite way I have heard the FPC described!

People keep saying that the Voodoo is like a Ferrari engine, but I would say it's actually a lot better than the Ferrari engines I'm aware of. Just look at the service costs on a Ferrari.

It's like some writer over at BMWBlog stating that the 2016 M2 is a better performer than the GT350 but he hasn't driven either one and brags about how the M2 is $10,000 more than the base GT350

True or not, in making this claim, what they are saying is the 1LE is also going to be faster than the Z28 that people paid $70,000+ for last year?

I guess it is true GM really only cares about magazine tests. They sure don't seem to care much about their customers...

I'm betting it'll be faster around the track, but that's good. Mustang will get more tweaks. Not like any of us could get the full performance around a road coarse that their factory drivers can get. Put me in a F1car and a corolla, I'd probably do better in the carols and still be alive at the end of the lap
