It's all natural light. I shot it with a Canon 6D and a 24-70 lens. It's also been processed in Adobe Lightroom. I'm a fairly serious amateur photographer, but this is the first time I've ever done any automotive shooting, so it's been a learning experience for me.
Very Cool...Thank you! I too am looking to do some automotive photography. I just picked myself up a canon 70D and have adobe lightroom as well although I am a true amateur...lol. Your shots looked too good for a novice. Would love to ask you a few questions. Mind if I send you a PM?

Thanks!!

Hey man, any time. Next to driving my Mustang and taking pictures of it, one of my favorite things is TALKING about it!

Pictures simply do not do ruby red justice. I have yet to see a picture that really captures the brilliance of it. The subtle metallic gold and the tinted clearcoat do some really cool things in sunlight and when the car is nice and clean it almost glows under street lights. My buddy has seen all the colors available and says that ruby red may not be the most aggressive or eye catching color but it is the most "sophisticated" color. I think that word is the best way to describe it.

Agree, Ruby is not one of the most aggressive Mustang colors. But I believe it is one of the more eye-catching of the colors. It's the styling of the S550 Mustang that is both aggressive and sophisticated. Qualities that competing cars like Camero, Challenger, and some foreign ones don't possess. Ruby does complement this styling type quite well.

I thought I would want magnetic for my car, but I just put a deposit on Guard. I also love Ruby Red. For me, it's Guard, Ruby Red, Metallic...

BTW, why is guard such an unpopular color?

I think my only problem with magnetic is exactly what you said. The black wheels do kind of dull it all down. I think I'm set on magnetic but need to find the right wheels to bring it all together.

If I chose Magnetic with PP, then I would definitely get the silver PP wheel option. Much better than the black PP wheels. IMO

Not sure if you can find a photo of such a combo on this forum. I know there is a silver car photo with silver PP wheels.

I wanted Ruby Red after seeing online pics when the new S550 debuted.

Seeing the actual color in person and in bright sunlight - definitely looks awesome as you can see all of the metallic flake in the paint. Online pics just don't do justice.

Although I favor Reds over most other colors - I will say, my prior 2011 Genesis Coupe was metallic gray - so my 2nd color choice for a new Mustang would be the Magnetic (again because in person the metallic flake looks great).

The thing I like most about ruby red is that pretty much any standard wheel color works on it. Black, silver, gunmetal, bronze, etc. They all look awesome.

I really like guard. It was my second choice. I think it might be less popular because to me it's a very European color. The problem is the car is American. I think ford expected the color to do well overseas but I think Europeans are buying a mustang because they finally get an American muscle car so they're going with more American colors.
