Handbuilt expectations > assembly line reality. If a person gets a new mass produced car these days and it has zero defects cosmetically or otherwise, it's pure chance. Mine has trunk alignment issues but I knew it before I bought it. I choose to enjoy the car for what it is.

Hope you're able to get this resolved the way you want it. Good luck.

The hood shaking can be fixed DIY, there are hood bump stoppers that it rests on. If you are experiencing some play you can raise them by turning clock/counterclockwise. I have no had any play in my hood since doing this.

this is incorrect.

many, many manufacturers have a far higher QC than ford does with the mustang. having owned many japanese cars over the years its not a mass produced vs handbuilt issue at all - ACTUALLY I consider the mustang to be more like a handbuilt car with all of its issues, poor panel fitment, rattles, vibrations, etc.

how can I say this with confidence? I've removed a door panel. By just removing one panel I can already see the differences in engineering, poor QC, etc. doing the same on a japanese car is very different. i had issues getting pieces to come off, thought I was literally going to snap the window control panel, metal brackets on metal rattling, sloppy application of noise/vibration dampening materials, improperly affixed vapor panels. its literally laughable.

its simple. Ford just doesnt give a fuck. they dont care. they never will.

I'm going go ahead and throw my 2cents in. Ford gave just about everything most people wanted for 2015. All the bells and whistles, Crap the things even got adaptive cruise control. A great handling performance an actual V8 ,435 horse out of the box!!! Then to top it off kept the price down to under $50,000 for the most loaded package!!! Every auto maker has some flaws, even the big dollar cars. So in my words " what else do you want"!!!!!

Ford may or may not be the best QC, but you aren't going to find a better deal on a 435hp car out there. Or even a 300hp car.

But for connoisseurs of naturally aspirated 4 cylinders, there is lots of choice. Honda is usually a safe and conservative purchase. Get one today while supplies last !

2016 Accord Sedan EX
Continuously Variable Transmission

rather than bash the Mustang, please state which car you like better, or open a debate in the Mustang vs. section.

You are clueless. Care to back any of your nonsense statements up with numbers or facts? Of course you don't, because your entire post is only your biased opinion. The body lines on the Mustang make panel alignment during production much more difficult. You can't compare it with some piece of crap slad-sided Civic, Corolla, Accord, etc. Ray Charles could line up the body panels on your average sedan and make it look half decent.

Why don't you tell us all about the differences in "engineering and QC" from removing a door panel, since apparently you are some sort of self-proclaimed expert. You are simply ridiculous, and you're talking out of your ass. I've had more door panels off various cars than you could ever fathom in your small imaginary world, and I can tell you first hand that the S550 is not any different than any other modern car. Stop making things up to try and slander the vehicle, you obviously need to get a life.

Maybe in your own little mind. Not in the real world.

My poor car has been a disappointment. Heres why...

Brakes noisy day 1
Notice trunk alignment and paint rubbed through at that time
Noticed hood lift/shake so violent Inhave only gotten over 90 a couple of times. IT SHAKES AND BUCKS VIOLENTLY THEN LIFTS AND HOLDS OFF THE NORMAL POSITION. Mybsales person and mgr suggested hoodpins on a new 36K$ Mustang PP GT! They want to drill and hack at mu new car to make it normal.
Water in fog lights.
Rear glass replaced due to leak and alignment.
Right rear taillight off 4 degrees
Passenger vanity mirror/visor rattled replaced
Rattles in light bezel
Rattles in roof liner
Rattles in passenger a pillar
Rear bumper poor fitment
Front left fender gas structural defect according to collision mgr at Wayne Akers Ford (seller)
Debris in roof creases in paint
CAN SEE DAYLIGHTTHROUGH HOOD GAPS AT HINGE (DRIVERS SIDE) AND airflow through it is lifting the hood violently
Driver door and front quarter panel began to run and now loss of paint will require respray!
You need to get a grip. You can see airflow through the hood gaps? What are you even ranting about? If the hood "bucks" and shakes" violently, better see what you crashed into. A hood is a metal body panel, they don't "buck violently"

If the hood exhibits a visial shake at higher speeds, the bump stops need to be adjusted. It's that simple. If a misaligned fender is a "structural defect", find a new collision center. That doesn't even make sense.

Brakes squeaking today at 10,800 miles
I don't know how many times this needs to be explained to people. You bought a car with 6 piston Bremo brake calipers that are TRACK READY. They are high performance brakes that are designed to haul the car down from triple speeds repeatedly. Don't use your car for high performance driving? Then don't buy the Performance Pack. Being an uneducated buyer doesn't make the design defective, it just makes you look ignorant.

There are more minor things too. Ex: green swirls in black door sill covers.
That makes NO SENSE. "Green Swirls" in the door sill covers? Sounds like you DAMAGED them, that's not a DEFECT.

Dealer collision mgr says "must take off door, quarter front drivers side and hood, put replacements, cut into frame and rebuild!"

"cut and drill" he said...

This car has been in the shop 15 times between 2 dealers.
Once again...find a new body shop and get a second opinion. It sounds like the car has "been in the shop 15 times" because you've brought it in 15 times for non-existent issues. If there is in fact a LEGITIMATE issue, the dealer should resolve it, no questions asked. They get paid to repair the car...why wouldn't they? But when your issues consist of "noisy brakes" on a car with a high performance Brembo brake system, your credibility is diminished to nothing.

FORD repurchased my 2014 Mustang Premium GT due to "industrial fallout" and would have gad to repaint the car.
The manufacturer never should have repurchased your vehicle for that. It's called CALL YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY, it's not a manufacturing defect. If it happened in transit, you should have noticed it before buying the car in the first place.

I've been in various Hondas, Toyotas, even BMW's that have their fair share of QC issues - from new to used, QC issues exist in EVERY make model - UNLESS it's a Bentley, Rolls or other extremely high end vehicle where QC is of the utmost importance... And even then, the persons plunking down $100k+ really would never notice QC issues if it existed - because many (not all) are just buying the car for "status" and could give 2 iotas about QC.

Example:
My father purchased a brand new BMW 335i twin turbo in 2009 - not even a couple months into ownership the rear taillamp failed and the entire assembly had to be replaced - not once but twice.

Is that BMW's fault? NO - it was an issue with the manufacturer of the tail light assembly.

So - here's another question to the people posting up QC issues with NO pics or vids to prove of the issues:

Do you think that Ford produces or manufacturers every single part found on/in your vehicle? If you do, you're totally incorrect.

As Ford and its designers design the vehicle, Ford is contacting various Vendors that will be able to produce their prototype designs and parts needed to make a real vehicle. Contracts are drawn up and a bid process most likely ensues - the chosen companies who had the best (or usually lower) bids win the business from Ford. Some are life long partnerships, while others can be brand new Parts Suppliers.

Those vendors or companies awarded the Contracts, then design and manufacture the real parts WHICH MUST MEET OR EXCEED the original specs as implemented by Ford.

So your door panels, carpet, seat upholstery, all switches, modules, tires, light assemblies, suspension components etc are coming from all different parts of the country and are delivered to and then assembled at Ford. YES the parts do have Ford part numbers on them / it's Ford's unique number assigned to the part based on design/patents/make/model designators.

Now is a crooked door panel related to Ford QC? Sure.

Is that same door panel that has a blotchy spot or discoloration a Ford QC issue? No. That QC responsibility falls back on the vendor who supplied the part.

However, there is a "gray area" - that defective part - IF it was truly defective at time of installation and final assembly, then it should have never made it to the end of the production line.

Now this is where the "gray area" becomes gray - such as - did the blemish or defect occur AFTER the Consumer bought the car and tried to do their own "mods", remove this or that to upgrade this or that - or was it a genuine oversight by those on the Ford assembly/WC review team?

To the above, then It's anyone's guess if it is a genuine QC issue or caused by a vehicle owner. Chiming into a thread about QC issues where no proof is available for others to judge provides no facts other than others claiming such defects as being totally related to Final Assembly QC POST ownership...

One little tip to those dismantling their interiors - when man handling the parts and prying on things past their tolerances, yes, the plastic will discolor on the opposing side due to stressing of the material, various clips will break and parts will not go back together as nicely as they were prior to removal ... :)

I don't disagree with the OP about most of it honestly. Alignment of the panels isn't hard, I ended up doing most of it myself and its much better than off the showroom floor. It took all of 5-10 minutes to fix all my front hood alignment issues and the trunk can be fixed in about the same. IMO, it should have been done at the factory and the fact that it is not shows lack of F's given. I've bought half a dozen new cars and I've never seen panel alignment so poorly done and this includes S197 cars as well.

Hood flex will exist with aluminum hoods. It's a little uncomfortable the first few times but I've been up to 140+ without issue.

The brakes noise is also a real issue in my opinion. Saying "They're 6 piston Brembos they're going to squeak" is BS. There are many performance cars with beefier brakes that don't squeak. And that leads me to the real issue, its the compound not the pistons or size. Go to a Ferodo DS2500 pad and you'll have zero noise and its a higher temp more aggressive pad which is the exact opposite that should happen coming from a lower end less aggressive Ferodo pad which is the OEM pads. The OEM pads are NOT a track compound, they're not a track pad at all and I fully disagree with claiming such and that they therefore have a pass for being noisy despite the more aggressive version of them (DS2500) is quieter. The solution is of course toss the OEM pads and get something better.

As for all the rattles, this is where I'd say yea, its a cheap high horsepower car and it's going to have rattles you'll have to chase down or live with. My car is in the shop right now having them chase down a rattle in the passenger side rear. That said my Dad's Mercedes also has rattles, and so does his Corvette, and so does every other car no matter the price.

Trollolololol. 4 degrees off? SCREAMS troll.

I would hate to be the dealer who has to deal with this guy- I see air gaps, hmm really, for hmm ventilation of the hot engine? 4 degrees? You use a protractor bro?

There's been a TSB out for brake squeal, why would on wait ELEVEN THOUSAND MILES to address it? Makes you wonder. Hoods wave at high speed, they're not titanium and they're meant to give a bit. It's NOT going to fly off with all of the bolts and the safety latch used.

I mean wow, please sell your Ford and dont let the door hit you.
