this is why I posted tutorials in first page @Thunderbird
There's more to it than what the videos show... the Official Ford Link on page one doesn't have the same names or format of files as the mirror links. I downloaded from the official ford link, and had to manually rename each of the files and create a folder called "syncmyride" to put the files in.

Yes, it should. The SYNC software takes configuration settings from a different computer, which we arent resetting or updating. My GT's red R snake startup didnt change, so yours shouldnt. (I've configured my coyote GT to show the GT350R startup hehe)

It does change slightly, as now it will look like the '17 startup, which is subtly different.

How do you do that?

Its not easy, and you need one of a few specific OdB2 port readers. There is a thread in the DIY subforums if you want to read more. You can configure a small handful of mildly useful settings, intro splash screen is one of them.

As bolded above - that is fact and could be causing some issues for others who aren't aware of the naming variances between the links.

Has anyone used the NON nav version of this?

What im getting and from reading the readme is you extract the main file to desktop.
Then extract update file 1 direct onto the usb
load this onto the car
wipe the usb
Extract update file 2 direct onto the usb
load this on
wait a bit and finished

This has en extra step compared to the nav version it seems? is this right?

Edit:

I also looked at the file from the official ford link (files names for both nav and non-nav are the same) and it seems to have it all in one big install instead of two. Any advice here is welcome as I do not want to brick anything just to have an early convenience.

GR3Z-19A387-B is the 2017 part. I have one, but don't have a Mustang to try it on.

I installed the Focus part HU5Z-19A387-A on my own Mustang and it works.

I doubt a 2016 part (Gxxx-19A387-x) would supersede a 2017 part (Hxxx-19A387-x).

I removed GR3T-14F014-AA from my 2016 and installed HU5Z-19A387-AB.
